As the festive season draws closer, we have intensified both day and night patrols while reinforcing unit deployments across the state.

Today, in line with the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Moshood Jimoh, our teams are once across Agege, Egbeda, Idimu, Isheri, Igando, Ikotun, Ejigbo, Isolo, Ojuelegba, Idi Araba, Yaba, Jibowu, Anthony, Maryland and other adjoining areas.

The RRS team, led by our Commander, CSP Shola Jejeloye, is joined by officers of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA)

Help us keep our communities safe. If you see something, say something.

Let me ask, you just said you will take them serious if they wipe out bandit right? Biko is RRS in Niger, Borno, Kwara etc. Or are these state Lagos stats? Breathe sir this is lagos and it's taking care of its state and security. Let other states with bandits take care of their states.

This is highly commendable in Lagos.. All those Agberos that used to disturb flow of traffic should be handled in the language they understand. Also, as the Yuletide approaches, every dick Harry and John are moving to Lagos en masse to enjoy the seasons. As such, crime rates soars, best of time to have you guys to be proactive and not reactive. Great preparation.... Kudos

It depends. Each state has special units that the state government funds.

Sometime around 1996, in response to an increase in armed robbery incidents, the then military governor of Lagos, Colonel Mohammed Buba Marwa applied to the head of state, General Abacha, to create a special force to combat armed robbery incidents. Operation Sweep was thus created.

Operation Sweep was completely funded by the Lagos State Government. The state provided patrol vehicles and other equipment to the force. Operation Sweep was made up of soldiers and policemen.

Nigeria returned to civilian rule in 1999 and Governor Bola Tinubu converted Operation Sweep to Rapid Response Squad (RRS). The soldiers were removed and replaced with mobile policemen.

The Lagos State Government created the Lagos State Security Trust Fund. Individuals and organisationa can donate to the fund and the government also provides money to the fund. The Funs buys bullet proof vests, ballistic helmets, cars and other equipment to the RRS, LASTMA, The Lagos State Fire Service and other such agencies.

These are urban Policemen. They are the ones who killed 7 kidnappers in a single night.

Simon Ekpa actually warned Ibo kidnappers from coming to Lagos that period. It really pained supporters of criminals like giddygiddy and Ibechris.

So because of Sambisa police should leave all other parts of the country. I wonder how they reason.
