and all these absolve him of all the pains he caused to people? More so to the Igbos? Your submission reflects your level of cruelty when given the same opportunity to do the same
I dont think he would be the most popular man in the South-East if he was causing them pain. He has nothing to gain by causing his people pain

What is amusing is that in a country where over 300 school kids have been kidnapped, a Brigadier General executed, Bandits dictating the terms of peace deal, over 49 people killed Dank wasagu, Kebbi, all of this in the last one month

But someone's problem is Nnamdi Kanu who was in DSS custody for 5 years

Some SE leaders are very dangerous even for their own people in the long run.

We now understand why the British believed that having Azikiwe as Prime Minister or Minister of Finance would have wrecked Nigeria almost immediately after independence and why they fought very hard against Azikiwe having any real power.
Just look at the amount of damage Gen Ironsi did in only 6 months pere when he was being Teleguided by Azikiwe.
Nigeria is still battling with the issue of the Abolished Autonomous Regions.

Gov Otti would probably have made Nnamdi Kanu the Minister of Defence irrespective of Kanu's desperate desire to wipe out entire Cities and Ethnic groups if he could do so.

The British were indeed very wise Administrators.
They even deserve Award

Our governor is doing what he have to do in order to calmed the nerves of MNK extremely gullible and emotionally disturbed followers by given them false hope.
Nobody is going to release an unrepentant terrorist to come out and start all over again.
Nnamdi Kanu's freedom is up to him.
Well its reflective of a failed country where bandits openly parade sophisticated arms, dictate the terms of peace deal, millions in in IDP camps, 300 school children abducted in the last one month, a Brigadier executed, ISWAP stomach a church in Kwara

But some people's only problem is Nnamdi Kanu who has been in DSS detention for the last 5 years, and now in Sokoto prison

Yes, Nigeria is getting it right grin grin grin

Igboland is not Muslim north where such criminality can be tolerated in the name of islam.
99% of ipob victims are Igbos while opposite is the case for Fulani terrorist who kidnap and kill other tribes for land grab.

one problem doesnt remove the problem of another, they are all problems... That he is the kost popular man in the east says alot about his supporters. It simply means you cant see what is wrong in killing and oppressing people but somehow think its okay to justify with the wrongs of others... Remove the lid in your eyes first before you point at others

But someone's problem is Nnamdi Kanu who was in DSS custody for 5 years

We Igbos are still wondering what damage Ironsi did in 6 months in office that the rest of you Nigerians that that have been ruling Nigeria haven't managed to correct 60 years after Ironsi?

At least Ironsi left 4 Regions that were controlling their resources, even if it was military rule

The rest of you Nigerians left 36 states that are not controlling their resources, and are relying on FAAC for survival. You guys made Nigeria world poverty capital, 8th most insecure country on earth and a failed country

If Ironsi could see what you people did with Nigeria in the 60 years since his death, he would be greatful he was dead.

Do you really believe the British pushed anybody to be PM?. It was a parliamentary system and there was intense negotiation between parties and the quotes of the party leaders are still publicly available. Sardauna said the mistake of 1914 has come to light! Zik begged him to forget our differences. Without the PM position the North would not have gone on with one Nigeria. The British did not hand anybody anything and the British PM even verbally supported Awo saying he would have been PM if it were Britain

Nigeria is far better than ipob Biafra under the leadership of the supreme leader now a convicted terrorist doing his time in prison.
I prefer a badly governed Nigeria as it is today than Biafra of ipob where there is no freedom of speech .
No freedom of movement as they imposed weekly sit at home at the pleasure of the supreme leader.
Opposition voices is not allowed and considered as enemies of the supreme leader aka Sabo nti Ike and the penalty is death.

Supporters of the supreme leader are cannibals they feast on their victims who are mostly Igbos.

They destroyed communities and rendered many homeless as they seek refuge in safer places.

They don't have even one block structure in Igboland under their name.

I can go on and on.

Azikiwe could easily have been minister of Finance.
Azikiwe didn't know that the Position of President he was given was Ceremonial and almost powerless.
He was already in it before he found out

Awolowo had approached Azikiwe for a Coalition that would have made Azikiwe Prime Minister while Awolowo had agreed to be minister of Finance.

It was the British that persuaded Zik to accept the Position of Ceremonial President instead with Balewa as PM

If you had to Choose between Ceremonial President and Substsntive PM which one would you choose?

Be honest

How can you compare ceremonial President to Minister of Finance?. Azikiwe was not a figure head. They ran the country together. Okotie eboh that was finance minister was his NCNC subordinate. His NCNC people controlled the civil service and etc. They controlled everything and he would have been the chief person nominating. If Zik accepted Awo's proposal, do you think the NPC will accept to be opposition?. I don't think so

Awolowo had offered Azikiwe the Prime Minister Position while Awolowo would have been minister of Finance

Azikiwe was a mere figure head as President
The position had no Power

Even Sardauna had more influence than Azikiwe
Which would not have been so if Azikiwe had been President in a coalition with Awolowo

Who ever does that should be prepared to face the army. I doubt that persons government will not be overthrown.

The President is the highest ranking citizen like King and Zik's name was written in the constitution. It was a high honor and he still had his boys or subordinates as ministers. Parliamentary system isn't rigid like that and they had meetings, shared posts and worked together

So then what's your problem? You already have a Nigeria much worse than your talking about.

You already have a Nigeria where millions are in IDP camps all over the North due to insecurity, half a million in Benue State alone, who have lost all hope of of ever sitting in their homes

You have bandits openly displaying armed and dictating the terms of peace deals that will allow them go home with their guns

You have killer herdsmen being resettled in ruga

You have ISWAP invading churches in Kwara, abducting people and executing a Brigadier General

And you also have government sending people like Sheik Gumi from to negotiate, placate and pamper terrorists

Since this is the Nigeria You are comfortable with, it shouldn't be Nnamdi Kanu who was in DSS custody for the last 5 years, now in Sokoto prisons, that you should be worried about

Remember, you are comfortable with a Nigeria where 200 people were roasted in Yelwata, Benue, just three months ago

I have not read history up to where Okotie eboh was accused of being at variance with Zik. However as Finance minister he was in the thick of the ten percent bribery allegation on the ruling coalition. Contractors allegedly were expected to give back ten percent of whatever they are paid to finance the party in government.
However during the time of the coup the coalition had already fallen apart and the NPC was in another coalition with Akintola's NNDP. I think we could say the NCNC was no longer in power by then but Zik was the President. I am not very sure of the details
