The newly appointed Minister of Defence, retired Gen. Christopher Musa, on Friday declared that the era of shedding innocent blood in Nigeria was over.

“The shedding of innocent blood must end. Our children deserve to return to school. Farmers must return to their farms. Many of these issues require both kinetic and non-kinetic solutions—justice, equity, fairness, and good governance. We will pursue a comprehensive, balanced approach. The road ahead will be tough. Let us not underestimate that. But we are Nigerians—resilient, determined, and capable. The threats we face may be adaptive and complex, but our spirit is stronger. I took my time to check the past defense ministers since 1999. Only a few of them of lasted beyond two years. A whole lot of them were less than two years.

Now,it is obvious that there is no continuity of ideas , or policy not to talk of room for achieving any thing tangible.

Before a new minister settles down and implant his ideas or style on the ministry, he is gone.

That turnover is not healthy for such a sensitive ministry.
