You are probably mixing the information up, I am a PR and an applicant for the Canadian AIrforce, from what I know, previously, only Citizens could apply to the armed forces, but recently, they opened it up to Permanent residents too, so this is what I think you came across. But maybe something else is cooking, I can't say.
Okay, thank you for the clarification

Good evening guys, please I need advice.

I will be 36 next year, my wife is 30, I have a Diploma and BSc in Comp Sci Education, my teaching experience totals about 1yr and 6 months(NYSC & teaching practice), I'm currently working as a technician for an oil and gas company, my wife studied MCB, and works in a bank.

What route would you advise for us to take, and who is better vas the PA?
What type of technician are you?

Why is it so hard for Nigerian schools to respond to transcript requests on time? I’ve been trying to get my school to send my transcript to WES for weeks now 🤔.

Please any idea if ircc would accept this bank letter for pof? I I am going to pair it with 6 months account statement. My bank are adamant on not providing anything more than this.

Your online bank statement with stamp only is even sufficient. That's what I used, I did not add bank letter. If you want sha, you can attach LOE that shows you've tried getting bank letter from your bank without any luck. But generally, bank statement is enough. Also make sure you don't use something like microfinance banks o

When you renew your passport after getting PPR, processing can take a bit longer. The visa office needs to link your new passport to your file before stamping. That may cause a delay after the “sent out” notification.

Many people have had the same issue. It can take 3 to 4 weeks while they update your passport details internally. Since you submitted on November 10, you are still within normal range.
it’s 4 weeks now and it’s still nothing no new news

Brethren, I come bearing good news.

My wife received FD notification today and COPR date which is a little over a month from now.

No PPR as of yet.

Does this mean that I have until early to mid Jan to land?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Hazereal: 2:00am On Dec 09, 2025
I received my PPR on November 7, and I submitted my passport to VFS Lagos on November 10. On November 11, I got a notification that it had been sent out, but since then, I haven't received any updates. Please note that I renewed my passport, so it's different from the one I used to apply. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?. It’s been 4 weeks now since I submitted.

Hi everyone, I submitted a PR application for my younger brother last month. His POF was just about 100-200cad or so above the required POF. I checked the exchange rate today and it’s now about 50cad less than required POF. The POF is fixed with an interest rate of 11.5 percent. I’m abit worried that the fluctuating rates will affect his application. I realize we should have put like a 1000cad difference as at time of application. Please how can we rectify this?

Since the application has already been submitted, your options are somewhat limited — but there are steps you could take before IRCC re-checks funds:

Add more funds to the account now, to re-establish a comfortable buffer above the minimum. If possible, top up the account so that — even with further exchange-rate swings — the CAD equivalent remains safely above the threshold.

Obtain an updated official bank letter showing the new balance (after topping up). When you deposit extra funds, ask your bank to issue a letter on letterhead showing your account balance (and ideally 6-month average, if required).

Submit a webform or update your Express Entry profile with the updated bank letter/POF documentation once you have it, to show you maintain sufficient funds. According to advisor guidance, that’s allowed if there is a “material change” in funds.

Maintain the funds until landing — because IRCC requires that the funds be available not just at application submission, but at the time they grant you PR or when you arrive in Canada.

No, it doesn't.
Please, this reference letter, must it be from my HR or can it just be from any of my senior colleague or line manager at work?

Do they trace the authenticity?

Should it be stamped or carry a letter head?

This part is seriously giving me headache 🤕 Help me @sheron50

Advisable you should read page one of this thread or read directly what is expected of a work reference letter from the IRCC official website. I think you will get it better.

And yes, it must be on official paper and stamped Authenticity is verified.
Thank you so very much.

I will go through

I don’t think it’s about the passport change. I think it’s more about where you sent your passport too. Applied for a new passport after ppr and I got my passport back within 4days.

My bank is delaying to give me a bank reference letter. Please can I use my 6 months bank statement instead?

You need the reference letter. Even the bank statement needs to be stamped or something like that.

No I didn’t. I just wrote a letter that my passport expires in 3 months so I had to renew because of the 6month validity. I put the old passport number and new in the letter and added the photocopy of the data page of the old one cos you can only send one passport.

The letter was put in with all other documents
