What did the Nigerian military government deliver from 1984 to 1999? Nigeria has a short memory; the Military is an extension of the Civilian government. But as bad as the Civilian government is, it is still better than the military government.

Benin’s legit government called for backup, and Nigeria had no choice but to roll in. When a coup is happening, sovereignty there, it’s already shattered. Respecting Benin’s sovereignty meant protecting it like Nigeria and others did.

And the way folks keep hyping up military takeovers is insane. Yeah, corruption in Africa sucks, but wait till a junta takes charge. Then it’s whatever the general says, period. Nigeria's military and civilian would have done far better if the Military hadn't delivered a constitution based on a unitary system of government.
