Ever wondered why Nigeria doesn't have a single functioning steel plant despite he vast amount of iron ore we have , they would rather export sand and send it back as steel because if we produced steel they won't have anywhere to sell the steel they produced. The same thing happened with oil they took our oil , gave us refined products in return , just one major refinery open in Nigeria and 3 major oil refineries had to close in Europe. Now the new oil is rare earth minerals . You need to understand the the west , russia and China will sow conflict in Africa just so Africa can't grow . The US especially because for the first time in history the USA doesn't have enough resources (rare earths) to remain the world's power so they need to get it from somewhere ( Africa) .
