There is a particular point that's missing from the insecurity in North for quite some time. The Sunni's and Shias have also been part of those attacking each others. Some of the attacks are not random, they are religion fight. May be reasonable number of the northerners are now aware of it or they are deliberately not interested in talking about it. Whichever way, it's hurting your same people. |

Shia group used to protest regularly in the north before which some of the Sunni's always frown at, and in almost every protest, the shia always get burnt. Even though nobody can understand the purpose of their protest. They have stopped protesting, probably forgot about the scores and move on.. hmmmm |

That's not the issue. Nigeria’s predominantly Sunni. We don’t have a Shia-Sunni problem, largely because religion and Northern traditional rulers system are a consensus. The problem of especially the core north is same as the problem of South-east from home; irresponsible procreation. The father of the notorious Northern bandit, Turji, is regarded as a thief and deadbeat father while that of convicted Kanu was too busy to raise his overindulged son properly such that his son, Nnamdi, has no meaningful education aside ordinary level WAEC school certificate, has no meaningful job or career till he became notorious enough to destabilize his whole South-east region. These are the kind of fathers who are behind the insecurity problems of Nigeria. People keep having children they lack the capacity to raise and those children become tools in the hands of criminal elements. If you know how many youths of South-east extraction that are in overseas jails, you will realize that Southern Nigeria has bigger problems than the Northern Nigeria. North can easily fix its problem if the criminal elements are arrested, prosecuted, jailed and rehabilitated but South will have almost a generation of people in overseas jails that you don’t even know if they are alive or dead. |

No one is fighting Shia and Sunni fight in Nigeria. Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the Shia leader was trying to create his own country within Zaria,Kaduna State doing whatever he likes until when his boys carry chest against Buratai some years ago while he was traveling, they blocked the high way, even though Gen. Buratai begged them to let him pass which the declined. The rest was history, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky was detained in Abuja then and reason his followers are always protesting. Ibrahim El-Zakzaky is now a free man and I don't think his people are protesting again. The last time they come out was during the 12 days war between US-Israel and Iran. helinues: |

helinues:The annual procession carried out by Shiites was always known for protesting over the plight of Palestinians. The group under the Islamic Movement of Nigeria was getting funding from Iran to stage their yearly Al Qud's day protests. Al Qud is the name of Jerusalem given by the Muslim conquerors. The IMN was more an ideological group focusing on international politics especially that over the ME and Muslim world. The group was promoting Iran's influence in the predominantly Sunni north which was becoming a concern to northern establishment figures especially the Emirate system that are aligned to both the Gulf Kingdom states headed by Saudi Arabia and Israel and the US/UK. El Zackzacky was seen as a threat to the Fulani Emirate and its alliance with Saudi Arabia and the West. The group was and still is committed to empowering northern Muslims through education and awareness on global issues. This is why the sect was brutally clamped down on by FG, Kaduna state govt . |

DomPerignon:Have they moved on from it? The Palestinians that their past protests have been about, they are almost still facing same situation, just a bit relief some weeks ago. Why did they stop the protest when what their protest have been about hasn't changed? |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by helinues(op): 3:02pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
madridguy:Protest might not be needed when there are other alternatives.. You see, the Sunni vs Shia silent war is something going on for years if not decades in Nigeria but no one is talking about it Btw, it was a despite that caused the clampdown on the Shias. El Rufai is a Sunni |

FreeStuffsNG:Shiites believe that monarchies are not allowed in Muslim society instead they prefer an Islamic Theocracy. The British had insisted that Ibn Saud - the patriarch founder of Saudi Arabia whom the country is named after, adopt a monarchial system that will keep the new state in the hands of his descendants. In the Muslim world, the west has always preferred monarchial dictatorships in place of secular democracy. The CIA coup in Iran that ousted a democratically elected civilian govt and installed the Sha comes to mind. The worst thing then happened which was the Islamic revolution that chased the Sha out and had an Islamic theocracy headed by a body of Islamic scholars. The US, UK and Israel hate democracies when it comes to the ME and Latin America for democracies in these regions always sees to anti western and anti Zionists holding power. The Saudi and Iran face off stems from the Iranians condemning the Gulf Kingdom monarchies as western stooges. |

helinues:Because anytime they go on this their procession they get shot and arrested. |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by helinues(op): 3:16pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
madridguy:Same way you are undermining it, it's the same way people have also been doing same. Shia's protest wasn't about the Palestinians, it was about being denied some access in mostly Kaduna state. The protest was to disrupt the state deliberately which El Rufai Sunni didn't waste time to quench it. The incident might have been in the past but it hasn't been forgotten. |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by helinues(op): 3:17pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
DomPerignon:Was their protest about Palestinians or having issue with the state government headed by a Sunni? Look at it from that angle |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by DomPerignon: 3:19pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
madridguy:They are a super minority in the north. But this same Elzackzacky was instrumental in having Sharia law embedded in our constitution in 1979 when he staged violent protests in ABU, Zaria under the Muslim Student Society which he co founded . Funny how they threw him under the bus. Likes of Emir Sanusi and El Midget were part of the MSS and joined the protests which later got violent and spread across several states in the NW. |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by DomPerignon: 3:23pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
helinues:If I recall, the blocking of the Zaria road was in protest of several of their members being killed owing to a dispute on who will lead a mosque in Zaria. The IMN does not build mosques as part of their agenda. The group's leader said once that he did not intend to divide Muslims in Nigeria but to educate them and that having their own mosque will see to more divisions and insisted that the best way to educate and unite northern Muslims is by the group's members, educating Muslims in mosques. |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by helinues(op): 3:26pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
DomPerignon:When Elrufai was the governor of the state, the shia was denied so many public gathering as he didn't want them to spread or convert more people to their side, that was the motives of their protest, they only used Palestinians as disguise. The clampdown didn't end at the protest. Majority of the terrorists are Sunni's. Fact |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by DomPerignon: 3:37pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
helinues:Virtually all Islamic terrorist groups out there are Sunnis and we know Qatar , US and Israel fund these groups. The Bathist pan Arabic secularist movement would have been a better option to the Arab world but the US and Israel have totally destroyed and uprooted any secularist political party in the ME and Arab world. As per IMN proselytizing to Sunnis to convert to Shiites Islam , this is totally false. The group came into the radar of western govts over their ideology and not theology. The IMN was also anti monarchist and believed that the Emirate system should be abolished and have an Islamic theocracy instead. This is why every Fulani Emir condemned the group because the IMN was a threat to their authority. |

DomPerignon:Bro, with the rate of insecurity in North, you can't rule out Sunni vs Shia silent war. Recently, some mosques was attacked in North. Are the attacked mosques Shia or Sunni? Is it possible for a Sunni to attack another Sunni's mosque? It's like Redeem branch attacking another Redeem branch when there are pentecostal churches to pounce on |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by DomPerignon: 3:45pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
helinues:Shiite population in the north is insignificant. Trust me, if the Shiites were up to 20% of Muslims in the north, the situation over there will look like Iraq post Saddam and Assad's Syria which were overrun with Jihadist Sunni groups murdering Shiites and Christians. We won't even be talking of Christian genocide but an intercine internal civil war among Muslim sects. |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by helinues(op): 3:46pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
DomPerignon:The terrorists who are Sunni's, their perception about the Shia is not different from other faith like christians |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by DomPerignon: 3:50pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
helinues:They terrorists in ISIS hate Shiites with deep passion. They can even accommodate Christians but Shiites were summarily executed . |

DomPerignon:Now you are getting my points |
| Re: Shia Vs Sunni Silent war In North by DomPerignon: 4:03pm On Dec 08, 2025 |
helinues:The situation in Syria and Iraq with ISIS is totally different in Nigeria . The Shiites are just too small to be targeted over their beliefs. The group came under attacks for preaching against the Fulani Emirate system. The group reminds me of Maitasine sect which was brutally clamped down on for being anti establishment . The Maitassine fellow was openly preaching against corruption among northern political leaders and emirs. So that's why they came are on them. Now groups like ISWAP, BH and Fulani terrorist groups do not want to end the Fulani Emirate but expand on it beyond the NW where it has been contained since British colonial era. This is why these groups like ISWAP and BH are waging war in the NE which resisted the Fulani jihad during the El Kanemi empire. In the NW, the Fulani bandits are dealing with the Hausa rebellion and also grabbing lands for displaced Fulanis from West Africa and CAR. This is why the madness is escalating and it has nothing to do with difference in religious beliefs but to maintain the status quo of a Fulani hegemony in the north and beyond. |

helinues:I have told you here that the IMN and Shiites do not build mosques or have separate mosques for several reasons and also not to stand out as a target. |

FreeStuffsNG:The only problem of South East with the average Yorubas is that he wants to leave Nigeria for the Yorubas and their northern brothers. What I don't understand is why the Yorubas who hates the Igbos so much will never want them to leave them. What kind of irresponsible bonding is that? You hate me and I don't like you but each time you hear I'm leaving you, you will start crying and attacking me. If you so much love the Igbos, why don't you respect them, since you can't do without them? Nawaoo! 🤐🤐🤐 |

DomPerignon:Why was there harsh clampdown on them by Elrufai? In Nigeria, no religion denomination have lost members pass the Shiite group in Nigeria. Another fact |

DomPerignon:The Fulani Emirates, are they Sunni or Shia? Also do you agree on this? In Nigeria, no religion denomination have lost members pass the Shiite group in Nigeria. DomPerignon:My expectations from you is to agree or disagree with my second facts so that we can wrap up this conversation and allow others to contribute If you agreed with the second facts, then no need of further arguing as you have reaffirmed so many of my points without consciously knowing |

helinues:You've got to understand the ideology behind wahabism which was a bedrock of Saudi islamic evangelism. The wahhabis are Sunmi extremists and consider all non wahabbis, ie moderate sunmis and all Shia Muslims, as well as Christians, as infidels. This ideology was the bedrock of Islamist terrorism and propelled the likes of Al qaieda and the rest. That was why boko haram, which inherited this ideology from Al qaieda, began by bombing mosques and slaughtering moderate sunmi clerics. It was because of wahabism that fmr Egyptian leader Mohammed Morsi was toppled and eventually killed in jail, as he was of the Muslim Brotherhood. Though Sunmi, the MB historically opposes all forms of islamic monarchy and believes in theocratic democracy as practiced and espoused by Iran. Because of their hate for monarchies, the gulf monarchies abhor Iran and all shapes that represent Shia and the Muslim brotherhood. In Nigeria, the Shias are the minorities of the minority and lack the numbers to sustain any form of warfare against the super dominant sunmis. Besides, have you ever encountered any Shia terrorist group? I doubt very much. |

MEGAWATCH:Smh. You've either confused me for one of your Senators or House of Reps members who are in the national assembly of just being mischievous. This is democracy. That our elected officials of South-east extraction have not moved for seceding shows that unpatriotic elements in your WhatsApp group from the Southeast are in the minority. I will never ever wish that patriotic, law abiding and progressive Nigerians of SE extraction be in any real or Imagined country with vicious, violent, criminally-minded, hate-filled, bitter and unpatriotic elements that bring odium and disgrace to South-east both at home and abroad. May such misfortune never befall anyone. |

FreeStuffsNG:There is a power rotation between north and south in Nigeria it wasn't a written law it's an agreement. I don't know why most of you are too afraid to agree that you and Igbos are not meant to be one because of your dangerous hate. Keep looking for a law in your hatred. The Devil is a good pretender. 😈😈😈 |

MEGAWATCH:Go and tell your WhatsApp group members that you will continue to lose. You speak for the unpatriotic minority in South-east and nobody will take you serious. Oni Sokoto of Sokoto Prison is a good example of how unpatriotic elements are treated. You denigrated APC yet today APC controls 3 out of 5 Governorship SE states today. What you can't get through democracy, you want to get through politics of lies, blackmail, hate, tribal and religious bigotry. Kolewek nah. You will keep losing. You're a sore loser and you're solely responsible for your loss. When 2027 comes, patriotic Nigerians will once again elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term and hopefully all the 5 Governors in the SE will be in APC by then. All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose. God bless Nigeria for ever. |
