Experienced farmers in the house, can jackfruit be grown in Nigeria?

Since yesterday that I learned a bit more about the fruit, and how sweet it is, I have been curious about it.
So, I want to know if it can be grown in Nigeria, especially in this day and age where anything is possible.

I think we just are not as familiar eating it as some are.

Jackfruits are cultivated in the South-South states. I last bought some when I was traveling to Akwa Ibom for tourism. It was fantastic to buy it right where it's grown.

I think the main reason it isn't widely sold is down to the preservation challenge. Since the fruit spoils so easily, it's hard for sellers to move it across long distances without losses.

According to what you posted, it says ukwa is jackfruit.
As far as I know, ukwa is not jackfruit, it's breadfruit.
Well, unless jackfruit and breadfruit are the same.

I think the narrative is wrong there. When I traveled it was called “eto fig” in Efik. I had to do some research to get the real name.

The moment it’s harvested, ants and fruit bats are already on standby to consume it. I don't believe there's any practical way to keep the fresh fruit good for a long period; a week or two is definitely the limit even with refrigeration.
