The bid by Fuji legend Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe (KWAM1) to become the next Awujale of Ijebu-Ode has hit a significant obstacle, as the Jadiara Royal House has publicly disowned any genealogical connection to him.

In a statement dated December 7, 2025, and signed by the Olori-Ebi of the Jadiara Royal House, Otunba Prince Akinola Odedina, the family—part of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House—declared that no historical, documented, or oral record links KWAM1 to their lineage.

Copies of the statement were sent to the Ogun State Government, the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Attorney-General, Ijebu-Ode Local Government, and the Awujale Interregnum Administration Council. The family also urged the Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling Family to cease any engagement with KWAM1 regarding eligibility for the Awujale throne.

Odedina explained that the clarification became necessary due to rising public interest, noting that although KWAM1 received a nomination form, he has not presented himself or submitted any documents to verify his claimed ancestry.

He stressed: “Wasiu has no genealogical linkage with the Jadiara Royal House. We have waited for him to bring forward his form or evidence, but he has not shown up.”

Odedina added that the family will continue to update the public as developments unfold.

Wasiu Ayinde has all these vices in his Curriculum Vitae, and so he should stick to his praise-singing of drug pushers.

If he cannot be contented with the Chieftaincy Title of “Olori Omo Oba” which he got through bribery, then it is Azarailu that is luring him to contend for the stool of Awujale and he will surely meet his Waterloo no matter how many Babalawo and Orisha he thinks he knows.
