I served in owerri and did my camp in Umuna bende Abia state. I can tell you for a fact that even Hausas have far more number in the SE than Yorubas. Through out my stay in owerri, aside for the few yoruba corpers, I hardly come bye a Yoruba man in owerri during my daily activities. The few are met are either transferred base on work or artisans that are contracted to work on building project, because Yorubas have the the labour force of artisans eg, bricklayers, tilers, plumbers, mechanics etc ibos don’t have this labour force so they contract mostly Yorubas or Togolese and they usually return back home to yorubaland after their contract….they don’t base in the east. Yorubas are progressive people and they migrate to more prosperous and productive regions. That’s why we don’t leave our region because it is still the most productive and most economically viable region of the country……if you said Yorubas are much in PH I would have agreed with you but not SE and don’t delude yourself, if Nigeria break up Today, the Ibos will no longer enjoy the privileges they enjoy in Lagos today

VAT is not paid by government. VAT is paid by customers.

Someone will buy mtn card and make a call in Aba and the VAT will be wrongly categorized under Lagos because MTN headquarters is in Lagos.

There is no real record of what each states generates from VAT because Nigeria lacks a model that tracks VAT at point of sale/consumption.

Oga I'm from SW which is an agrarian state. I was watching nairametrics last week and a major exporter of agricultural produce was on there and he confirmed what I suspected that the volume of agricultural produce in the North dwarfs whatever is going on anywhere else in Nigeria.

We dey do ok in the south west but it's not even close, I was involved in a $14m investment drive to develop a corn starch/ cassava production facility in Oyo State so I understand the volume of production but even at that we don't put out anywhere near as much.

My own family own over 5000 hectares of land leased to farmers over, 1000 acres is used for palm oil and cocoa farming.

And the insecurity has made things worse, we will match I suspect in the future as there is a new appetite by young entrepreneurs to go into farming.

How many students do private universities have. There are only about 10 private universities which are viable in Nigeria the rest are a joke no worth the paper the certificate is printed on.

Cocoa and Cashew nuts are still at the top of agricultural exports in Nigeria. What are you saying? In case you don't know, I'm from the North Central and most of the touted agricultural produce from the North are coming there. The only comparative advantage the core north has in agriculture is tomato, onion and beans cultivation.

You are speaking to the value of those exports not the volume. The value itself is a function of relatively high costs over recent years.
