South Africa is really developed, this is a good indice to check development of a nation.

Once I saw the DRC, I had to wonder what their definition of road network was.

That country has the worst roads in Africa, or even globally if it comes to travellng from one city to another, town or village.

Throughout the more than 2 decades Mobutu ruled the country, he did not maintain the roads. This should subtly inform you of the mess left behind.

Defending large Nigeria road network shouldn't be headache to anyone. Most of them are poorly built because everyone tagged to a road construction project sees it as big chance to cashout BIG. Ex governor Uduaghan of Delta State constructed some in Asaba. Many washed off the next rainy season. And this is the case in most southern states. Corruption and inconsideration have badly impeded the country's progress.

If we talk about quality of the roads Nigeria will disappear from the list

Where is Egypt?

Think about this. The smallest country is Vatican City with less than 1km2.
If Vatican City has 100% of it's landmass paved with bitumen, it still wouldn't have a long road network.

What is the definition of a road network?
What is the point of this topic?

I normally jump and pass when I see these topics but sometimes I stop to measure the intellectual state of our citizens.

African nations are a forced contraption. That is why a country such as Nigeria is a collection of minority groups with no patriotic national identity. We have a bad start but watch this space. African countries would one day thrive and prosper

South Africa has a good road system, and they have tolls. It's not like everyone is rich there, there are even broke ass white people there.

And you have said nothing but the truth, but if you remove corruption, mismanagement, embezzlement among the rest of what we are known for in public offices, we know we shouldn't be where we are.

You mean to tell us, in the 31 years of South Africa's democracy, there haven't been any road network expansion projects? Why is it that every little positive thing that happens in SA, we somehow have to thank white people for? Are you indirectly saying it takes a white person to build a road? Some serious issues of inferiority in your country, no wonder you are where you at

2.Did villages and townships have roads under Apartheid or highways leading to them? Yes/no?

I can see a number of people who complained about the Coastal road, also complaining why Nigeria is behind SA. If dem explain Obidients to you and you understand, you’re likely to be that Obi’s special adviser

That data on Nigeria is obsolete. We have done way more than that. As at 2017,the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing stated that it was a total of 2000,000 kilometers.

I know the then Minister, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola kept updating it and between then and now, we have built far more new roads than any other nation in Africa so it's inaccurate to quote almost a decade old data.

My estimate is that we should be around 300,000 and 400,000 kilometers by now.

Ghana should be on the list with 94,203 km as at 2020. This list is not credible.
