High Blood Pressure (HBP), also known as hypertension, is one of the most dangerous but most ignored health conditions in Nigeria today. What makes it even more deadly is that most people don’t feel any symptoms until serious damage has already been done. What Exactly Is High Blood Pressure? It happens when the pressure of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries is consistently too high. Over time, this weakens the blood vessels and strains important organs like the heart, brain, and kidneys. Why You Should Take It Serious Untreated high blood pressure can lead to: ✔ Stroke ✔ Heart failure ✔ Kidney disease ✔ Loss of vision ✔ Sudden death Many people walking around today don’t even know their BP is high. 📌Common Causes in Nigeria Too much salt in food Stress Lack of sleep Alcohol and smoking Being overweight Family history Lack of exercise Warning Signs (Often Ignored) Although hypertension usually has no symptoms, some people may experience: Persistent headaches Chest pain Dizziness Blurred vision Shortness of breath 📌 How to Prevent or Control High BP Reduce salt intake (Nigeria foods can be very salty) Check your BP regularly Exercise at least 3–4 times a week Eat more fruits and vegetables Reduce stress Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol Take your medications consistently if prescribed Final Note High blood pressure does not respect age. Even young people in their 20s and 30s are now being diagnosed. The best thing you can do is to know your BP number and take action early. Stay healthy. 💙 Feel free to share your experiences or ask questions.

My BP has always been within the normal range ever since I left religious matter for about a decade now. My University days are laced with sicknesses and breaking down even during examination periods, yet I was very religious, never missing church services. Then came my final year when I started to question everything. That was the only year I didn't write my exams in sickness. My health was firm and my result was very good. It took me 4 years later to eventually abandon religion and its gods totally. From then till now, my BP has always been within the normal range. What I have learnt in life is that what actually causes BP is not stress, too much work, etc, but worries. You worry about where you will spend your eternity Omoh, you will end up dying quicker. You worry too much about how to live to please an imaginary god, hmm, your case is Sope Otilo.Never never worry, Never never worry. You're so worry about witches and wizards You're so worry about a fake god. You're so worry about your religion You're so worry about eternity. Never never worry Never never worry. |

If your blood pressure is high, going on walks for 30 minutes 3 times weekly is helpful. You need to sleep for at least 7 hours daily, too. Reduce stress as much as you can. And if you really love yourself, AVOID ARGUMENTS. |

You forgot another important thing which is cholesterol, cholesterol levels also have a significant impact on your blood pressure. Avoid deep fried and oily food, eat less red meat like pork, goat, cow etc,eat little salt,do stretch and resistance workout like yoga and planks. Everyone will die but taking care of once health will limit how much one will suffer from age related illnesses before dying. |

engrelvis:I can't be a Christian and not worry for billions of the earthlings that are most likely going to spend their eternities in hell fire, even if I feel I will make heaven. I have never had rest of mind one day imagining how billions of sinners will go to fire forever while I'm with God singing hallelujah. That thought alone spiked my BP all through the days of my Christianity, before I eventually discovered the falsehood of religion. Omoh, that was my breakthrough in life. |
