PHIPEX:
But a Christian was killed for blasphemy at his backyard in Sokoto and he said nothing.

Imagine if he had boldly and loudly condemned the constant murder of Christians in his domain all these while?
The guy is evil and a big liar,
He is saying what u guys want to hear

Taqiya at play, Please let anyone show me any news confirming the sultan condemning killings by Muslims against Christians for blasphemy in Nigeria or is that not part of sharia, the breaking beer bottles nko? the closing of canteens during fasting?

This one is just trying to do eye service for U.S, Abeg U.SA if you are reading this, don't listen to him o
No leader in the North will support mob killing or jungle justice. What you need to know the punishment for blasphemy is death but government has to execute it.

I agree, you can't and should never force Christians to follow Sharia laws, but Muslims have the right to practice what they want if that's their desire.
Chritinas can't force Muslims not to practice what they want. It cut both ways.

Especailly not US govt can not tell any country what laws they should practice. that's a no no. We are no longer in the slave trade era.
if you want shari'a the country can separate so that you can practice it in ur own country up North

Obasanjo one person that allow it
tunjijones:
Nothing like, don't subject the Christians to Sharia law. Nigeria is a secular state like you mentioned, Sharia law have no place in a secular country.

There can't be two constitutions in one country.

But I don't blame the northerners, they are smart and they get what the want most times. Na the docile and mumu south I blame, for allowing Sharia law to stand in the first instance..

Ohhhh, I forgot, the Yorubas and the Igbos were busy fighting and measuring dicks when the north smuggled an islamic law into our constitution.

Beer is prohibited in that geographical area just as cocain and cannabis are prohibited in certain geographic area.
You are contradicting the Sultan. Prohibiting the selling of bear is a sharia law which should only apply to Muslims, according to the sultan.

Same way you can move to the North to practice sharia unfettered, after all Lagos state is not a shariah state.

Reversed psychology! If Nigeria is multi-religious Country, why then do we have sharia in North ? Why was the the RCCG woman beheaded? Why was Leah Sharibu gruesomely killed by Islamic jihadists who were shielded from justice by muslim lawyers? Why is alcohol of non-adherents being seized and destroyed down north?

Who is fooling who? So you see how you're aiming blindly and shooting yourself on the foot? That Nigeria is a non-secular state is no brainer as the constitution of doesn't recognize any state religion. Perhaps the Nigeria he is advocating is one wherein political offices should be absolutely separated from any religious sentiments!
You mean Deborah, not Leah..

Don't trouble yourself!
One of their strategies to deceive and deflect
Their religion allows them to lie to infidels, raid, maim, kill...do anything to infidels....

Nigeria is a secular state. Sharia should not be regulatory or have jurisdiction in courts. A Muslim should able to choose not to have anything to do with Sharia.

If this is not the case, Nigeria is not a secular state. Why should Sharia be mentioned in the constitution? It makes the constitution a confusion.

Oga you are misfiring ! we should commend the Emir of sokoto for standing out, takes a lot of balls for North to tell the North the truth .. you see Atiku n Buhari always shy away from opposing anything the north do

By structure, existence and Practice Nigeria is a secular state .. Fact But the challenge is our diversity and leaders, Northerners feel they have power leverage because our leaders condone there excesses for political reasons

Nigeria is a secular state let not even disputed that, what we need is Sane Leaders that will discard " preferential treatment" in crimes once that is removed North brein will reset

Sharia law is for the poor muslims amomg them. The rich and knowledgeable ones among them are not subject to it as they can choose to have their case transferred to a federal court where sharia does not apply.

Re: Nigeria A Secular Nation; Don't Subject Christians To Sharia Law - Sultan by 2mch(m): 8:13pm On Dec 11, 2025
Nigeria should have only 2 courts, traditional and federal that already exist. Religious law has no place in Nigeria. We have tried it and it’s been abused. We need to do away with it.
