Since Sharia law cam exist alongside Nigerian constitution, it's okay to adopt bliblical law in some southern states. Christian leaders should fight for this. |

It's too late Mr Man,Trump is already on your matter — there is no escape route for you! The fact of the matter is that there shouldn't be any room for Sharia law in Nigeria being a secular state. You and your forebears have been using Islam to foster your your ethnic Fulani agenda for too long in Nigeria. Trust me, the game is up now! |

Believe the Sultan of Sokoto and you will believe anything! Sharia law is not for non-Muslims but, non-Muslims and Christians could be murdered in cold blood because of a Sharia-based law called "blasphemy" and the Sultan would turn a blind eye to the perpetrators of the heinous crime. Alcoholic drinks belonging to non-Muslims could be seized and destroyed by Hisbah police with impunity. He is even trying to rewrite the Constitution of Nigeria by claiming that Nigeria is not a secular state but a multi-religious one so as to justify the place of Sharia law in Nigeria. Someone in a faraway country could write something against their Prophet Mohammed or Islam and innocent Christians and their properties in Nigeria become targets. The Sultan of Sokoto is being too clever by half! Liars are never believed even when they say the truth! @hotseat |

Emu4life:Does Nigerian law prohibit alcohol? Or we now have different constitution in this country. No region has the right to prohibit alcohol for everybody when it's not prohibited in our constitution. |

HgAkpobomeEr:There's nothing commendable there. It's hypocrisy. Where was he when Deborah Samuel was killed in his presence? It's just bcoz US is pressing his neck. Bottles of beer are destroyed everytime in the North but no caution. 4 years ago one ibo woman was killed in Kano for eating during Ramadan. Must everybody fast with you? What nonsense? Then you come here pretending to be concerned just bcoz US would not give you Visa. |

reddingtonblack:Do you think his comment is motivated by personal conviction, big lie. His comment is driven by the US position. He is speaking because of the US demands. Let no one be fooled, this is how they gradually creep into your neighbourhood/mind, after they gain some prominence, they'll begin to forment trouble. It is not about the laws, it's about what it does to the mind of their believers and radical mobs. It's about what is preached to them by their clerics in their worship centres. When Deborah was killed in his domain, was it not the mob who feel empowered by Sharia to kill without giving her the opportunity to defend herself? Did the Sultan and prominent elite say anything? They all went on ghost mode. Abeg forget talk. Talk is cheap. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. |

Fear of Donald Trump soldiers.?? The main issue is that sharia criminal laws must not be employed by any state in Nigeria. It's promotion of fracas to use sharia criminal justice system be it for Muslims or for non Muslims. Sharia criminal laws include stoning blasphemous persons to death, stoning women to death for adultery, cutting out the hands of thieves and other cruel punishment methods. Mainly Muslim mlitary dictators from Northern Nigeria who midwifed the Constitution of Nigeria refused to allow Sharia criminal laws in Nigeria's Constitution knowing full well the chaos the inclusion can cause in a multi religious society like Nigeria. But Sani Yerima iwho introduced sharia criminal justice system in the far north Nigeria states in 1999 remains adored today in the Sharia states of Nigeria. Yerima even contested for Presidency of Nigeria after introducing sharia criminal laws in Nigeria. |

SpecialAdviser:Islamists of Nigeria have taken Nnamdi Kalu to the custody of Sokoto Caliphate because Kalu constantly berated the Sokoto Caliphate over its drive to Islamise the whole of Nigeria. The Sokoto Caliphate was earliest in adopting unconstitutional Islamic sharia criminal justice system in 1999. Boko Haram quickly emerged and says it's fighting for a country to be governed with Sharia criminal laws.

The scope of Sharia Law as it is today in all these 12 northern states is unconstitutional. It has to be rolled back to pre-1999 version where it only applies to civil affairs of the adherents of the Islamic faith. Alternatively, the constitution has to be amended to incorporate codified Sharia as is being enforced in these states today. Anything short of these two options is unconstitutional, unlawful and a violation of the constitutional and fundamental rights of all non muslims citizens and residents of these states. To all those that think otherwise: Sharia enforcement is no more or less a violation of the constitution as Sunday Igboho's declaration of an Odua Nation in the Southwest, or Nnamdi Kanu's declaration of a Biafra State in the South East. And the FG must defend the constitution as is without fear or favor--not in parts but the whole of the constitution. Any group not happy with the constitution should seek an amended through the proper channel. |

3Ceagle:And are you so SURE, even before have you dont heard or seen people question Nigeria " secular" .. during the muslim muslim ticket have we not heard comment like that ... is not really about US the way our leaders handle killer herdsmen n bandits with soft gloves stirrs the doubt The sultan nd prominent Northerners didnt say anything when deborah was killed and even other cases .. thats why i cautioned he should not discredit the sultan .. we must laud and encourage actions like that, cos its rare for north to oppose north kudus to the emir |
