The explosion is quite unfortunate. I hope the investigation will reveal the true cause of the explosion, and those responsible will be held accountable. |

Toh Na sabotage be this. The explosion happened just few days after NNPC signed a deal to capture and use the gas flared at their onshore OML 17 joint venture near Port Harcourt |

tobenuel:I don't know what you are going on about with that bolded comment of yours above. Now listen... What the Lagos special adviser CLEARLY told the media was that there is still ENOUGH port capacity in the Lagos Ports if the massive inneficiences at the Ports are removed. He's actually right about that. However, if the NPA insists on moving part of Lagos Port operations to Warri, that is fine. It becomes highly IRRESPONSIBLE and an act of online disinformation for posters especially of SE origin to keep spreading falsehoods viacrandom blogs and several YouTube videos seeking to knock the heads of Warri folks and Yoruba folks together while saying that the SW was denying Warri of ship cargo. That's highly a highlyvIRRESPONSIBLE thing to do! Senator Oluremi Tinubu's biological mother is an Itsekiri woman from where the transported natural gas for the Escravos-Lagos pipeline comes from. So, it's totally inconceivable that President 'Bola Tinubu and his team would deny his wife's maternal ancestry of sustainable development. The ONLY thing is that the river ports of Warri, Koko, Burutu, Calabar, etc, require constant dredging due to silting from the shallow river bed which prevents big ocean-going ships from sailing into the riverd with cargo from abroad and the cost of dredging is very expensive running into millions. Second, the Escravos (Ugborodo) - Lagos gas pipeline transports natural gas NOT just to the industrial hubs in Lagos, Ogun, BUT to the rest of West Africa along the shoreline up to Ghana. That gas comes right from Itsekiri oil fields bearing Itsekiri/Yoruba names namely Okan, Meji, Meta, Meren Oil Fields which have operated right from the 1960s. Yorubas and Itsekiri are related ancestrally with Yoruba being the parent ethnic group of the Itsekiris of Ife, Ilaje, and Ijebu origins and many Itsekiri communities were founded by folks of Yoruba lineage even before Oba Olua's son, Prince Ginuwa's arrival from Benin with 70 children of noble men on exile to Ode-Itsekiri an original Ijebu settlement where he met Chief Lenuwa and Ijebu man in 1480! Prince Ginuwa's mother was from Ile Ife and was the ONLY one out of Oba Olua's wife who was NOT born in Benin. |

tobenuel:Hehehehehe ![]() The Niger-Delta is ‘unsafe’ to host major maritime operations and oil and gas company headquarters! But it’s just safe enough to use pipelines to suck oil and gas to power the south-west economy! If you understand the logic and see the fairness in that one then you’re a genius! ![]() |

fineboynl:Young man, you CANNOT say my post doesn't mean anything because of your limited knowledge of history which Itsekiris themselves do NOT deny. Yoruba ancestral bloodlines from extend right from Ogun to Ondo States into Delta State for centuries. They call themselves Itsekiri but they represent the Easternmost borders of Yoruboid groups in Delta State. The Itsekiris have always attended important annual meetings involving the indigenous Obas (in Nigeria, Benin Republic and Togo), featuring Yoruba professionals, the rest of Yorubaland from Nigeria, Benin Republic, and Togo. High Chief Ayomike of Itsekiriland used to lead a delegation of Itsekiri High Chiefs to attend these sorts of annual meetings even if the Olu of Warri was unavailable. The oil and gas-rich Ugborodo (formerly and improperly termed Escravos meaning "slave" in Portuguese) in Delta State was founded by Ugbo migrants from Ugboland in today's Ondo State over 500 years ago. Many Ijebu communities were founded in what is now Delta centuries back such as Omadina, Ureju, Ode-Itsekiri (note the similarity with Ijebu-Ode), Ogidigben, and more. Many of these communities simply extend from Ondo State right into the Itsekiri part of Delta State. The Itsekiri folks from Ode-Itsekiri and other communities founded by Ijebus still recollect and relate with the original Ijebu communities they migrated from centuries ago and they don't hide these FACTS. |
