Why Igbos Should Reconsider One Nigeria. by bigpriik(op): 8:27pm On Dec 12, 2025
Before I continue with my points, I would like to say both one Nigeria and Biafra are worth dying for, those who agitate for the both are politically correct.
Biafra is a country united by blood and Religion, a country with a population who are 99% Christians and with ethnic groups that share blood and cultural rations will prosper the uniting factor will supercede the dividing factors.
A united and working Nigeria is the only black nation capable of being a global super power and the hope of the black race, If Nigeria falls no other black country in can take that position fact check me.
Furthermore I would say no igbos no Nigeria, once igbos leave Nigeria makes no more sense, all other ethnic group leaves, even hausa will not want to live with fulanis anymore nothing will break the heart Nigerians more than seeing igbos raise the flag of freedom that is why you see every other ethnic group kicking against it.imagining igbos leaving Nigeria is like imagining what death feels like.
Lastly I would say if Nigeria would be a world power then we need to industrialize and where do you think industrialization will start from of course the southeast, the igbos over the years have shown passion for manufacturing in industrial scale.
Let's all work towards a restructured Nigeria where everybody is responsible for their destiny.

No matter the political arrangement, the Igbos will always find a way to thrive.

Bro, stop reasoning like a child. Nigeria has never worked, and will never work. If Nigeria could work, it would have worked by now.

Being a super power country is good, but its not necessarily the goal. A country that works, a country that can give its citizens the basic amenities of life other countries now take for granted like 24 hour light, portable water, security, affordabke heath care, good roads, rule of law and justice

These are the things that matter, and Nigeria cant give it to the common man almost 70 years after independence

Igbos have the right to decide if they want to be part of the British colonial creation called Nigeria, or not

Nigeria is a failed country and should have been dissolved a long time ago

I wonder who u are blaming for being a Nigerian?

Cameroon isn’t too far down the road from u, they could have just crossed the borders and be conceived there.

1) it's impossible for Nigeria to be world power we don't have the strategic position, resources, population, or any serious comparative advantage so that's wishful thinking

2) the fact about Nigeria is there is no common ground.. What Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa considers a working and good Nigeria is totally different and no overlapping point

Hausa Fulani it's islam over Nigeria

Yoruba want one Nigeria on paper because of advantage it gives them, but they don't want to make the sacrifice

The Igbo man is actually the closest thing to a believer of one Nigeria by actions but won't sacrifice Igbo identities for Nigeria

Minorities want Nigeria because it makes them part of something big

3) for Nigeria to be one u need sacrifice, but seems only Igbo see asked to sacrifice

Treat Hausa like Igbos n see
Treat Yorubas like Igbos n see

We don't have to enemies but Nigeria can't work, it was never created to work

A Worst Biafra will be better than best Nigeria.
Re: Why Igbos Should Reconsider One Nigeria. by truthera:
Nigeria can never make genuine progress in it's current form of centralized political/economic landscape.... I agree with the submissions made by gidgiddy and mrvitalis as the best option will always be to dissolve Nigeria.... But sadly, this option seem to be unrealistic due to constitutional and international obligatory bottlenecks involved to achieve it with the likelihood of another civil war breaking out, orchestrated by the political elites (looters) of one Nigeria, who will do anything to maintain the status quo....

Based on the circumstances I highlighted above, the most realistic way out of the mess remains a total restructuring of Nigeria (Total Decentralization of political/economic power). If indigenous people of all regions regain total control 100% of their resources and governing structures then no one will feel marginalized or trapped as they can make their own laws in line with their cultural values and harness their natural resources without any limitation to create economic wealth for their region/states. Igbos won't feel pressurized to migrate to other regions as they can easily create a unique governing system that will favour their entrepreneurial prowess and convert their region (south east) to the manufacturing hub for West Africa....

The British entity Nigeria will always be a colonial contraption.... If the country must continue to exist, all indigenous people of the British contraption need to come together to renounce their colonial heritage "Nigeria" (Some people say it's real meaning is "Nigga Area") to truly live as free African men or women which our ancestors were before the colonialists conquered them.... This is why I am in support of a total restructuring that will lead to a change in the country's identity "Nigeria", it's coat of arms, anthem, constitution, government and all other British colonial colorations must be erased, replaced with a new country name, new constitution, new coat of arms, new governing system that will be created by the indigenous people and accepted without compulsion by all indigenous people....

I will reiterate, the best option is to dissolve Nigeria but an easier realistic path to salvage the situation is a total restructuring of Nigeria....

Let Ibos go. In fact, Ibos must go. Must.

I personally pray for Ibos to carry their bags and leave. Let them go back to their 5 states in Iboland.

If you want to settle in PH, Lagos or Abuja, you must pass TOEFL, mental tests and show Proof of funds before getting visas which will be renewed yearly. We don't want hawkers, petty traders and fake items counterfeiters littering our streets.

Why would I blame anyone for being a Nigerian, its the situation I was born into which I hope to one day leave

Its you people who want to perpetually remain in an unworkable Nigeria that should feel sorry for your selves

So what stop you from making it do well again since you yolobas and your Hausafulanis took over for over 50 years?

And did Igbos struck?

And if Igbos is the problem, Why can't Nigeria allow them to go so that you start doing well again?

The Igbo is a great tribe specially created by God after his resting day.

In my next life, I want to be Igbo.

this has always been used to justify the injustice against the Igbos in Nigeria. Even the government has used it if you check their policy and body language. Good news is that current realities show Nigeria won't last till 2028 max.

They just approved parking forest guards with automatic weapons, lots of changes are on the way.

As you're going for December, don't come back. Stay in your regions, hold your NASS representatives and demand they push for referendum.

Start from there.

It is easy, Tell your 15 Senator to come up with a bill on referendum. They should insist the bill must be looked into and shouldn't allow any other bill be debated on the floor as long as that is still pending.

At every plenary session, a point of order should be made to reference their desire.

Don't tell me that can't be done because it is within their constitutional right and doesn't break any of the House rule.

While doing that the state assembly in the 5 states should pass referendum bill and pass it to their national Assembly member.

Do this and see the world take your case and support you

That is your problem

And that you must have an opinion on everything

How can the dream be achieved when the vision is blurry to Biafrans and non-Biafrans? Anyway, let's start at the beginning.

Step 1: Create a map outlining the proposed Biafra region.
Step 2: Conduct an internal referendum within the proposed area (i.e. vote internally and agree).
Step 3: Present a bill to the National Assembly (or an equivalent legislative body).
Re: Why Igbos Should Reconsider One Nigeria. by food4tot: 8:12am On Dec 13, 2025
The problem is that Biafra will be a land locked region at the mercy of Nigeria.

Biafra’s failure in the civil war was partly due to its inability to sustain its population with adequate food supplies.
