Turaki, Ex-Governors, PDP Leaders, Obasanjo In Closed-Door Meeting by treesun(op): 1:32pm On Dec 13, 2025

A faction of the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by its chairman Alhaji Taminu Turaki, is currently holding a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Turaki, alongside former governors of Nigeria and Plateau States, Alhaji Muazu Babangida and Sen Jonah Jang, and other senior party leaders, arrived at the former president’s residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, at about 11:38am on Saturday.

The PDP leaders subsequently proceeded for a private meeting with Obasanjo.

Details of the discussions have yet to be released.

Ahead of the 2023 PDP presidential primaries Obasanjo, in May 2022, held a closed-door meeting with three PDP governors in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Obasanjo, then, met with Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and a former Cross River Governor, Donald Duke.

Earlier in January, the same year, Obasanjo told leaders of opposition PDP that he won’t return to the party, when a PDP delegation led by the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, four former governors, and members of the party’s National Working Committee visited him at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Former this former that in makinde dead PDP, babangida aliyu can't win any polling unit anywhere in Niger state, turaki can't win any polling unit in kebbi state.

I was at the meeting. We discussed majorly on how to bring peter Obi back and make him flag bearer.

When he boys decided to stab him on his back and did everything to stop him from getting to the seat including changing the currency and hoarding the new currency, hoarding fuel and sponsoring all manners of negative stories against him including using secure forces to try and silent his disciples, the god of Politics still humiliated you all. Even his friend, Rufai Oseni recently said if given the chance, Obi and his gang will soon beg Tinubu to step down for him.

There's nothing all the political parties put together can do in 2027 Tinubu has demystified them. Even Seyi makinde doesn't know anything about politics. He's a small boy to Tinubu.

How many Govs does PDP has left? The number of states determines the strength of a political party. That's why I pity ADC coalifusion making noise without any results on mobilization of Nigeria and Nigerians to show proof of alternative.

How will Aliyu Babagude be any powerful in Niger where we have IBB and Abdulsalam Abubakar in Tinubu’s camp. Abdulsalami Abubakar’s son-in-law is the sitting governor and has made himself Tinubu’s boy

Seyi Makinde is doing Tinubu’s job. He and that Bauchi clown will be PDP’s Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates just to distract the few remaining PDP members

He won it once from 1999 till date. He won his polling unit in 2015 when he teamed up with JAGABAN to kick out Goodluck Jonathan. Apart from that single instance, we have humiliated him in all elections in his polling unit, his ward and his local government
