I am kind of feeling this way right now too but I know once AFCON starts and we win a game, I'll be all in again.

Ten players are now in the Super Eagles camp in Cairo following the arrival of Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

The latest arrivals also include Igho Ogbu, Amas Obasogie, and Tochukwu Nnadi.

They joined the quartet joined of Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who are the early arrivals in camp.

Eighteen players are still being expected in camp.

The Super Eagles are expected to hold their first official training session tonight.

Eric Chelle’s side will face the Pharaohs of Egypt in an international friendly at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday.

Super Eagles battle Pharaohs in pre-AFCON friendly

Nigeria and Egypt will clash in pre-2025 Africa Cup of Nations friendly at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday (today).


The two countries will use the friendly to test new players, and possibly tactics ahead of the AFCON.

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle named a couple of newbies including Ebenezer Akinsanmiro Usman Mohammed, Tochukwu Nnadi, Ryan Alebiosu and Salim Fago Lawal in his squad for the competition.


The new invitees are expected to get a run out against the Pharaohs.

The game is also an opportunity for some of the players to stake claim for shirts in the team.


22 players are currently in the Super Eagles Renaissance Hotel base in Cairo.

The likes of Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, and Samuel Chukwueze are expected to link up with the team in Morocco.

The match will kick off at 8pm Egypt time (7pm Nigeria time).

Thank God we did not qualify for the world cup. One would have thought that all was well. Meanwhile, we put together quality crop of super chickens...

If we really want to move forward:

1. Appoint experienced personnel in NFF/ Minister of Sports to administer our football
2. Employ a first class coach, not this over-hyped and publicized Malian coach
3. Scout for quality players from the grass root both local and international

The Future is now. The Moroccans we see today started building its team over 15 years ago.
