That hell in that portion of the Bible was translated from the word “Gehena”. It was an actual fiery place outside Jerusalem in Jesus’ time. When Jesus made that statement he meant the sinner will be destroyed totally [will seize to exist] not turned into an “Hell” that will keep burning him while he remains alive,
For your own good, you may want to bring up some more Bible portions you think preach the idea of hell you know now and I promise you I will in a loving way explain things to you

The fire in Leviticus is the fire at the Altar [not some hell fire or fire for punishment] that the priest were commanded to keep burning perpetually. And this fire is even for a good reason.
Now you may ask, what about other places where He’ll or Hellfire were mentioned?
*I tell you that we have a lot of bibles that have been poorly translated. Most bibles we have today, including the KJV, use “Hell or Hellfire” as translation for 3 words mentioned in the Bible; these words are, Sheol, Hades and Gehenna. While Sheol and Hades meant the same thing -Hades being the Greek equivalent of Sheol, Gehenna meant different thing entirely.
*. Those three words should never have one English word to interpret them. They are different terms, and mean different things.
