To the best of my knowledge, no political party is banned or restricted in Nigeria. Main opposition leaders like Atiku, Peter Obi, hungry Amaechi etc are members of different political parties without any ban or restriction. So, what’s your point again?

Peter Obi is currently in LP and ADC and from what his supporters are saying, he may join PDP in January. Atiku, Amaechi, El-Rufai etc are in ADC. Kwakwanso and the governor of Kano are in NNPP. Osun state governor is in Accord. Anambra state is governed by SPGA. So, how’s Nigeria a one party state?

There is no monopoly of power in Nigeria. So many parties are in elective positions both at the federal and sub nationals. No political party has been outlawed and there is no controlled opposition.



We operate a multiparty democracy and political ideology has never been an issue in our politics. That’s why it’s east for a Peter Obi to move from APGA to PDP to LP to ADC and now back to PDP possibly. Atiku also has a similar political trajectory. It is what it is but definitely not a one party state.
