Burob:Over 25k USD baba, I am a fullstack developer and earn $$. I am not responsible to Nigeria. Nigerian politicians are the people we should hold becus they actually do nothing but are super taken care of by the country's sweat. Like, as we dey hustle for fuel, tjey get free fuel. They are over taken care of. It is their duty to bring in FDI, not me who earns nothing from Nigeria. And by the way, I personally attracted over 25k USD into my busiensss. |

Burob:That is why I have been screaming that these b%stard old men will sit in office, paddle budget, loot project money, get extremely well paid, buy new cars every few years, taken care of by the state, yet we hustled to get small dollars into the country and these moda fuckers want to tax me like UK. Are u providing same facilities like the UK? U havent blocked leakages, u havent handled corruption, u havent handled wastage, u havent provided amenities but u want up to 25 percent of my foreign sourced income, that is criminality. Nigeria is evil. |

I decided to research into it as the figure for Egypt seemed quite huge. So, I search "who were the Federal Direct Investors in Egypt 2024" on Google and this was what AI mode gave me: The primary foreign direct investor in Egypt in 2024 was the United Arab Emirates (UAE), largely due to a single, landmark real estate development deal. The UAE, through its sovereign wealth fund ADQ, made a massive $35 billion investment for the development of the Ras El Hekma peninsula on Egypt's Mediterranean coast. This deal alone accounted for the majority of Egypt's total FDI inflows, which reached a record $46.1 billion in the fiscal year 2023/2024. Leading Foreign Direct Investors (FY 2024) According to data for the 2023/2024 fiscal year, the top countries for FDI inflows to Egypt were: United Arab Emirates: $38.94 billion United States of America: $3.01 billion United Kingdom: $2.94 billion Italy: $2.10 billion The Netherlands: $924.3 million Saudi Arabia: $775.5 million Other significant financial support and investment commitments were made by multilateral partners, including expanded loan agreements from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and financial packages from the World Bank and the European Union. This makes sense. The investment by the UAE was outsized. It isn't typical. However, if we exclude that from the UAE, it would amount to around $9.5bn. This is about 2.5% of GDP which seems fair. The country has done well overall. Nigeria is lagging considering where it is coming from: from the collapsed economy Buhari bequeathed on his successor, which is now going through a turnaround. It would take sometime before investors start flooding back. |

Very funny. Why go looking for what you already have? What is FDI? Is it not Investments from Foreigners? How much do we have in the Foreign Reserves idling away at one digit interest rate while we go borrow from the same institution holding our funds in two digits interest rates? Our mumu will never do. |

owobokiri:The prime reason why FDI fled Nigeria was Buhari's epic mismanagement. Tinubu and government officials need to go out and hunt for investors. They won't come in hordes that easily. The government can do more to bring them by cutting the company tax rate from 25% to nothing more than 19%. However, Tinubu is on a good start. |

Burob:I have landed properties in Nigeria that were TOTALLY bought with resources raised outside the country. I said it in another thread that since my graduation in Nigeria, i never worked for any company but for myself. Even when I travelled, I worked for myself from Day one! I left Nigeria with less than a thousand usd in my pockets. So whatever I have as at today as investments in Nigeria, were basically made from funds raised outside Nigeria.. I have also said it here that if not for tribalism, the starting point for the federal government calls for FDIs should be with disasporan Nigerians.. Now your turn! Tell us how many kiriji investments you have made from your 30k/month APC Internet parapo job ![]() |

Burob:FDI is not attracted by random citizens on internet, it is attracted by governments that create stable, credible, and profitable environments. Private individuals don’t control macro-economic policy, exchange-rate stability, security, power supply, infrastructure regulatory consistency Governments do. If after all these foreign trips, bloated delegations, and obscene estacodes, Nigeria is still struggling to attract sustainable FDI, the failure belongs to Tinubu and others paid to govern, not citizens asking questions. Holding leaders accountable is not laziness. It’s literally the job of citizens in a democracy |

aworatak:..abi. And to attract foreign investments the federal government has to provide a conducive environment for businesses, companies, industries to thrive .. like constant electricity light supply, good roads network, appreciate and strengthen the naira inorder for naira to have value, low interest credit loans, rural development, fuel, and diesel at a lower price , a secured environment and country..this will attract a lot of foreign investments into the country |
