Cajal:It shows your level of education,as the Deep will Calleth Unto The Deep. From time immemorial, Justices always have Split decisions based on what is presented to them - Facts of Law and Evidence 🧾 before them and • the Majority carries the Day- that Is Democracy! •For example,Chief Awolowo was denied that he won Elections in 12-2/3 States of Federation because - Chief Akinjide- SAN Proved in the Court- with Blackboards what is 12-2/3 of A State and of Human Being. We did not begin to talk low of the Supreme Court - as we are seeing Now from Obedient people and the PDP Sympathetisers. Very despicable individuals! |

Nteogwuija:Well said. It could be in next 100years. A president from rivers will suspend an elected Lagos governor just like you said "precedent" The bad thing with setting such standards is that there is no definite winner. Everything goes downhill from thence |

In the end,A weak nation is built with weak institutions.... [qLuote author=vicdom post=137801935]Chai! llSupreme Court these days has been totally emasculated by the executive power. Supreme Court has never been this controlled by any executive power since Nigerian history. Omo, Tinubu is very strong eeh. As a matter of fact, after Tinubu's exit from the office, he will sustain as a Godfather to the subsequent presidents as much as he wants, or maybe till his death. I comot cap for this man, his fist is very firm to hold anything.[/quote] |

Good radiance! A very bad precedence has been set by the inordinate power drunk Tinubu-led APC government. It will surely consume all who have a hand in it. Posterity beckons. |

which yeye supreme court judges is this. When it will result to president declaring state of emergency in opposition states on a regular basis then we will statrt running round and shouting fowl play. That was how they did in declaring that elected officers are free to decamp, now governors and senators are flying from one party to another |

The Tinubu I know from 1991 doesn't take action without deep thinking, having, having knowledge of what the constitution says, he will consult with his lawyers before taking any step. The Obi I know is a trader who deal in buying and selling. He has no knowledge of anything law, politics, if not for Ojukwu, who is Obi? He act before he thinks. The Atiku I know was a snuggller at Seme border, he joined politics when the late Yar'adua the elder brother of the late president that died in office. He is more interested on how to loot, he so much believe that money can buy anything, he also believe in his babalawo than anything strategy on how to win election. |

armadeo:Whats worse now is that just just set another precedence where ex-president can upset elected officials as long as they can call for State of emergencies. Executives sets the wrong precedence and judiciary then verifies and validates it much later. Very terrible precedence. I honestly pity Nigerians. They about to have it tough.... Always putting the cart before the horse. |

casualobserver:More reason eason Jonathan was booted out of power, since, he couldn't comprehend basic English and refused to use power granted to him by constitution. When he declared his own state of emergency, the same Hausa/Fulani people that are using insecurity to distablise his govt because they wanted to come to power, he left them in the state to continue running the affairs of the state . His eyes cleared when he finally booted out of power.

Meaning, That a state of Emergency can also be declared in Lagos, and the activities of a tribalistic governor checked. It's always good to set a precedent, it will come back to you, just a matter if time. |
How A President Can Declare State Of Emergency In A State • Only The House Can Declare Seat Vacant, Not The Governor - Supreme Court • Restructuring: No President Can Solve Nigeria Problem Without Doing This • 2 • 3 • 4
