The context is what you are not following. God is greater than our hearts means the writer is talking about how he felt about his past deeds but God knows what prompted humans actions not what all humans will choose to do in the face of trials. That's what John meant.
The Psalmist is talking about how God is reading the ongoing thoughts and deep feelings of His loyal servants not of all humans.

Jesus died for Adamic sin for which there is going to be a resurrection that differs from what each human chooses to do whether good or evil depending on the circumstances they face. So God is saying what each person chooses to do will lead to their death but whether they die as conscience of their evil intentions Adamic sin still awaits all humans that is the one Jesus paid for.

Adam and Eve were perfect so nothing could have been the reason why they failed to live by the law God gave them unlike their descendants facing countless challenges that's beyond their control so God sent Jesus to save Adam's descendants out of that helpless situation.

Adam asking for forgiveness does NOT undo his sin, thus Adam asking for forgiveness changes NOTHING. God still Loved Adam in spite of his sin and this made God made a temporary covering of sin for Adam.

Sin is a VIOLATION of God's INTEGRITY! Meaning that SIN is an attack on what makes God as UNQUESTIONABLE and who's WORD cannot go without EXECUTION. Sin is a violation of the Kunfayakun of God.

He send more than 300 hundreds both major prophets and minor prophets according to bible and with only one message WORSHIP ME ONLY, YOUR LORD, MY LORD IS ONE but you failed to follow the commandments.. instead you said your own God is 3 in 1 when it's not NESCAFE brother .. you celebrate December 25 which no basis in your religion and January 1 which is a pagan festive... Instead of you to follow suite the prophets you follow your own ideology....
Hence, baby it's a straight hell fire nothing can be used to compensate you order than hell...
