He was born 29 November 1958. He is a Ghanaian politician who has been the president of Ghana since January 2025.

John Dramani Mahama is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), he previously served as president from 2012 to 2017.

His mother is Ghanaian, not Yoruba. But his late step mother was a Yoruba from Offa, Kwara state.
He himself came to live with his father and step mother in Offa when the father (a politician) had to come live in exile in Nigeria for sometime as a result of military coup in Ghana. That is why he is familiar with Nigeria.

On Monday, 15 Dec, 2025 he was coronated with the chieftancy title as the Aare Atayeto Oodua of the Source by the Ooni of Ife. (that is probably where/when he put on the dress in the picture above)

His stepmother is from Offa. He once lived there, at a time when things were a bit tough for his family.

He is one of Oloffa's chiefs.
