Nigeria’s Exports To The Africa Surges 91%, Now ₦4.9 Trillion

Foreign trade data from Nigeria’s National Bureau of Statistics shows that the country’s exports to Africa in Quarter 3 of 2025 jumped 97.16% year-on-year to ₦4.9 trillion, from ₦2.49tn in Q3-2024.

The report also showed that:

* Exports to China leapt 230.49% to ₦2.26trn in Q3-2025 vs ₦683.74bn a year earlier.
* Exports to Brazil grew 19.58% to ₦446.76bn vs ₦373.61bn in Q3-2024.
* Exports to India dropped 52.83% to ₦560.76bn vs ₦1.19tn in Q3-2024.
* Exports to the USA dropped 55.97% to ₦743.63bn vs ₦1.69tn in Q3-2024.

Stakeholders have opined that the trade data provides straightforward evidence that Nigeria’s manufacturers and exporters are turning toward “BRICS” countries as alternative markets.

Good to see that our exports are booming.

The report would have been complete by enumerating the products exported.

Hoping these export claims are not refined petroleum products from the very Dangote refinery that the government is trying to "kill in its infancy"

Export of raw materials and import of finished products is akin to exporting jobs for importation of inflation and unemployment.

If all the above is not APC propaganda then why is Tinubu failing to crash the dollar rate just like his expired Buhari also failed in his own administration huh

Should APC change their name to All Promises Cancelled?

World Bank offers Nigeria forex rate advice, as Tinubu eyes N200/Dollar rate

April 23, 2023

The President-elect said he would work with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to *bring down the exchange rate to N200 in his first term.*

“My administration will collaborate with the Central Bank to harmonize the fiscal and monetary policy to achieve immediate stabilization of the value of the naira against the US dollars and other currencies and in the short term, strengthen the naira by boosting the supply of foreign currency and moderating demand.

“The short-term goal is to achieve a naira/dollar rate of 300 naira/US$ and gradually achieve a less than 200 naira rate over the next four years, Tinubu stated.

Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has promised to ensure that the naira would be equal to the dollar in value if voted into office.

NAN reports that Buhari said this on Monday during the south-east presidential rally of the party at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

“It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar. This does not speak well for the nation’s economy,” he said.

He urged the people to vote for APC, noting that he would ensure that corruption was tackled headlong if elected.

Sad to see that the REPORTED boom has not stopped Tinubu and APC failure to crash the dollar rate as they promised, despite saving $84 billion in subsidy removal, reducing imports and borrowing to specifically defend the Naira.

Do you think that Tinubu is just stealing all the money to bribe politicians and buy votes for his reelection and 3rd term agenda for life president huh

This government can not give a list of the exported products.
This list will only show raw materials being exported!
It's a pity we do not manufacture much in this country because of no enabling environment for manufacturing......

However, our beverage and snacks industrial complex is doing ok as I see such products all over the neighbouring countries.

Even our Guiness Stout is a big thing amongst the African diaspora in London!

Good news. The Nigeria exporters are diversifying their export market which is a good development.

The findings of the report are quite revealing. The shift towards alternative markets is commendable.
Re: Nigeria’s Exports To The Africa Surges 91%, Now ₦4.9 Trillion by lilsmart(m): 5:10am On Dec 17, 2025
The primary legal and administrative function of any national customs service (like the Nigeria Customs Service) is to control and document everything that crosses the country's borders. This is non negotiable

Reason I said this is non negotiable is

1. Revenue Collection Assessing and collecting correct export duties and taxes.
2. Trade Statistics Generating accurate data on what the country sells abroad.
3. National Security Preventing the illegal export of restricted items (e.g., cultural artifacts, wildlife, banned substances, drugs. Etc...).

4. International Compliance Adhering to global trade agreements and reporting requirements (e.g., with the WTO, AFCFTA).

So If Customs cannot provide a list, it implies a catastrophic failure in its core mission.

My is what formula is use in calculating the said %
How are dey just giving us Numbers

You are desperately looking for a way to badmouth this news. Besides, this government was never trying to kill Dangote refinery. The conception of Dangote refinery was basically created with Tinubu's support from the beginning and I remember many OBIDIENTS on this forum hated the refinery when it was being built. Go and find out who Dangote lobbied before he got the piece of land for the refinery before you start trying to change the narrative.

fuckJones:
(A case study of Nigeria citizens & their elected oppressors).

During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the feathers of the live chicken off one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores. It gave out grievous cries, but stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until the chicken was completely Unclad. After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The Unclad chicken was staggering in pain. stalin goes into his pocket and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature. The poor chicken in pain started eating and stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet.

Joseph stalin then turned to members of his political party leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people". "You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them". "If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping you". "They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that, you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place." Breath taking, isn't it ?

Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy defending on social media. Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is. They are the same people who are responsible for their predicaments. Did you see the numbers of people that throng to Saraki's House during this Sallah period to go collect peanuts? People trooping to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Foundation offices to collect branded One kilo bag of Rice & Noddles. Did you see the number of people of all ages who troop out to welcome Ex- convict James Ibori to South South! Do you see the number of handle mop following obi as if he is a seat? what of the one following dino malaye?

Your guess is as good as mine. Nigerians kill those they should defend and defend those they should kill! Pass to all your contacts & let your Political & Religion Leaders read, understand & digest.

This is encouraging.

The more we trade with other countries and diversify our markets, the better for our economy.

I hope we can sustain this growth and build stronger trade relationships with our neighbors and beyond.

Was it really a "surge" or is it because our currency is now badly weakened?
for instance, if before this admin our exports were worth $1m, that would be N470m (at Fx rate of approx 470). This year the same $1m exports would be worth about N1.5b. (at Fx of approx N1500)

I'm happy things appear to be looking up but we must look at these figures in relative terms
