Please, has anyone experienced this before? I joined this company earlier this year and I am spending a year with them already. Immediately I joined, I was given offer letter and other documents to sign which I did sign them immediately and send back to them. Last week, I got a mail from the HR to sign an updated JD which I signed and returned. Again this week, I got another mail from the HR to come to their office to pick offer letter. Offer letter after a year of work!

I am thinking something might be fishing. Please house, has anyone experienced this before because this is my first time of coming across this in about 10 years I have been working.

Most likely it's a promotion, Salary or Updated JD or terms of Service.

What you should really pay attention to was the new JD you signed without asking questions

See the letter and review. Ask HR ALL your questions in writing and seek clarification in grey areas. Let responses be documented (via email). Get views from peers and colleagues (not necessarily in ur current work place). U don't have to sign/revert immediately. Take your time

The Management reserves the right to do what they like.It is a private job.



Under government, Job offer with the date of assumption of duty.

Two years later, you will be given a confirmation letter to show that your duty is satisfactory.
If you commit a crime within the two years you will not be confirmed at all You may be dismissed.


Please bear up with their job irregularities.God will give you another one devoid of needless and excessive documentation.

i guess maybe you were on probation and just got you confirmed after a year access.

Your company is only trying to evade decades of failure to remit or regularise tax remittance. With fresh registration, they can claim new ownership, new business and all sorts of new engagements in the country. This is been done in anticipation of the new tax rules slated for January next year.

some company.. when you're employed you're placed on probation for sometimes before fully certified as staff.. maybe that's what's going on

Some put it plainly while others don't mention it to you that you're on probation

Check if your job title has change

The variation is usually do to error in the first employment letter or a new job role offer

JD means job description. Basically all the things that you are required to do on the job, could be daily, monthly, or even yearly activities

You would still sign it unless you have gotten another job. I noticed that most outsourcing companies that employ contract staff do this repeatedly even after more than ten years. The reasons are likely they have lost your initial details.

Consult your lawyer. Simple!

Thank you guys for all your contributions, I appreciate it. So someone from the HR team called me earlier today and asked if I got their mail and I replied in agreement. I used the opportunity to ask questions and she explained that they couldn't find my complete records in the file so they're trying to harmonize them. She also told me she would send the new offer letter via mail since I work remotely. I am still expecting to receive it though.
