Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has dismissed renewed calls for Biafra independence, insisting that the Southeast has no reason to feel marginalised under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Speaking at an end-of-year press briefing on Wednesday, Umahi argued that massive federal capital investments across the region have rendered separatist agitations unnecessary. He pointed to major road, bridge, and infrastructure projects executed by his ministry in 2025 as proof that the Federal Government has fully integrated the Southeast into national development. Umahi maintained that these initiatives demonstrate equitable inclusion, while sharply criticising media voices, including Rufai Oseni, whom he accused of fuelling divisive narratives.

This a laudable project that Nigeria will forever remember the Lagos City Boy for in the history of Nigeria, this is a developmental project that will further unite and boost the economy of the South and Nigeria.

Propaganda is NOT Governance.

That is why I will do everything in my power to support IGBO and their kith and kin BIAFRA. These people are futuristic in developing themselves.
