Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has confirmed that he met over ₦600 billion in the state treasury upon resuming office after a six-month suspension.

The governor’s confirmation aligns with an earlier disclosure by the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, who stated that the former Sole Administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ette Ibas, left more than ₦600 billion in the state account at the end of the emergency rule.

Governor Fubara, who spoke while commissioning the 14.2-kilometre Obodhi–Ozochi Road and bridge project in Ahoada East Local Government Area, also revealed that he had left over ₦300 billion in the treasury prior to his suspension.

Let's not be naive or be politically correct, the fight up there is dirty and only those willing to get dirty can survive.

I'm not a politician and my scruples will not allow me thrive in that field. I won't begrudge anyone who plays politics the way others are playing it because that may just be the covert rule of the game.

Maybe you just came across those books you referenced, hence your excitement. This is the politics section, such books are not new to some of us. Don't read and get carried away.

Even with those books, what you simply came out with is "The end justifes the means."
The question now is how satisfied are you with the condition of Nigeria? Since politicians have been turning state funds into their personal war chest?

Some of us don't just comment here for the sake of it or to cause more problems. We want Nigeria to be better. What you have is not a solution. What you are advocating for perpetuates a cycle of impunity and poverty, that not only stagnates Nigeria but fuels insecurity.

That a lot of people engage in something wrong, still doesn't make it right. You simply don't understand what public service means, having become accustomed to the rampant corruption in Nigeria. Your comment is an anomaly.
