FIFA has SUSPENDED seven foreign-born Malaysian footballers for using false documents to claim Malaysian ancestry, a scandal that’s shaken the football world.

As a result, three friendly wins and one draw have been overturned.
The players, from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, and the Netherlands, allegedly forged birth certificates to meet FIFA’s eligibility rules.

The suspended names include:
🇦🇷 Facundo Garces
🇧🇷 Gabriel Arrocha
🇦🇷 Rodrigo Holgado
…and four others.

Malaysia’s FA has been fined a whopping 350,000 Swiss francs and plans to appeal the decision.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s World Cup hopes are still alive as FIFA investigates DR Congo’s player eligibility.

The NFF has already petitioned FIFA, alleging DR Congo fielded ineligible dual-nationality players in their playoff clash.

With Malaysia punished, football fans are asking: Is DR Congo next?

Inasmuch as I don't like the idea of S/Eagles "qualifying via the backdoor", Rules are Rules, &Congo would have exploited same backdoor opportunity against Nigeria, if the tables were turned.
