What people expected of buhari in 2015 was army buhari...who could pass a decree and 200 people would be in jail for corruption

The problem is, you can't do that in a civillian government. You got to go through the court process, you got to have a proper investigation beforehand, and you got to have proof and witnesses. And as for passing anti-corruption laws...you can't pass a decree 'army style'...you would be impeached, and for good reasons (and even 'sensible people' will support your impeachement)

The above is why the army appears to look better at tackling corruption (and I won't deny that it is very satisfying to read about how some really godawful characters during the first and second republic got their just desserts, for a while even)...but fighting corruption without due process can lead to abuses like Pa Ajasin spending 9 months in detention in 1984 before they determined he had actually stolen nothing as governor of old Ondo state. And it can set a dangerous preccedent. No due process always ends up affecting completely innocent people. Remember the purges of the USSR in the 1930's...by 1991, most of the people purged and executed by fiat were 'rehabilitated' (lol)

Also, civillians tend to make alliances to get into power. And that means making alliances with unsavoury corrupt people (see our current leader for example, but also see many past civillan leaders). A civillian president who actively fights corruption even in the ranks of his own people is not going to last long in power in nigeria...which is why we have repeatedly had the paradox of the incorruptible leader in nigeria surrounded by corrupt associates. Such a president would be impeached and replaced with a more malleable successor. And the show will continue. Yeah, Yaradua for example did fight corupption, by reducing it in the civil service, but note that he did not collect any major scalps in the elite because he would have been kicked out of office.(he even did not go after Ibori, but rather chose to let the UK get him)
In as much as I agree with your take, truth is Buhari ensured corruption as the president. Do we talk about his nephew nicknamed Tunde that from supposedly selling airtime in a kiosk became super rich and his inability to curb his relative and associates wealth grab. Even his ex-NSA indicted him but subtly deflected the blame to his ministers.

But saying it behind him is the issue here??

How can he possibly defend himself and mostly those who were stayed very close to him are not even part of those who are championing this book

How is it possible to outsiders and critics to know more about a person than those close to them?

Whatever it is, Tinubu himself have proven to be worse than Buhari, so there's nothing to write home about here
The book wasn't written by Tinubu and several members of Buhari's immediate family exposed secrets in the book so ibos should stop mentioning Tinubu's name.
If Nigerians were ardent book readers we would have seen over 100 books written about our former leaders. There are several books written about Winston Churchill and Obama. Several books written about Michael Jackson and Awolowo so cut the crap and stop the nonsense.

Tinubu isn't probing Buhari's regime or his ministers and I hope the editorials will let this to slide.

Tinubu is capable and he's been doing just that and he picked all the pieces and building the country is his capacity.....

Not minding Obi who talks like a baby was asked not to play with his peers....
Trashyy talk.
We need people like obi to put any government in power on their toes.
Without constructive criticism, tinubu will be asleep.

Was the book ment to eulogize Buhari or to spit him? Cause I no understand.

A very wicked person should not rest in peace

There's even nothing like rest in peace- person way don die don die.

If there's heaven and hell that dude should be in hell by fair judgement. Infact if he'l has categories he should be in the baddest part

No peace for the wicked. If some people decided to write good about a man some others consider bad, then those who consider him bad are bound to write their own rejoinder.

The most popular book on former President Muhammadu Buhari I have read is 'The Victory's of Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Dream " showing Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai and other close allies with Buhari on the cover.
Amazon calls the most popular book on Buhari.

When a man's own family is speaking ill of him after his demise, you will all agree with me that's not a good sign ☢️.

Everywhere you look nobody dey talk good about the man......under his leadership someone sat comfortably and was watching on satellite 🛰️ as 4 of my family were kidnapped and all our life savings taken from us and you expect me to have any sympathy for him....tonda faya him tombstone 🪦 there. undecided

Did you hear Goodswill Ababio talking about China selling scrap train coaches that are collapsing in the middle of the forest recently in the chambers.....Amaechi will soon be kept busy by the powers that be, every single minister under that man's government will be in hot soup 🍲 very soon.

How does this news reportage relates to Obi again??
Obi wakes up everyday criticizing this government with bitterness and you feel we should ignore his rants?

If he can't let the government be.... We will drag his tiny voice around as well....

Obi should tell his supporters what he'd done differently if he was a president and what he'd done differently on the policies of the president and the suppose outcome from his suggestions and not fight to win election when he's got absolutely nothing to offer.

How does this actually relates with the article you're reacting to, that's what I'm asking you

Stop acting like a fuulish individual

Elrufai talked about Tinubu and Buhari and his associates, the next thing Peter Obi

Is your head still correct Sha?

Gotocourt:
President Buhari was far from perfect. Many of us who supported him expected much more from his civilian presidency. However, as someone who worked closely with him in opposition political, and governance roles for over a decade, I believe much of his administration’s shortcomings stemmed from the actions and failures of a powerful inner circle—relatives, advisers, and officials who did not always share his commitment to integrity and public service.
I really dont know the degree of Elrufai's education. The quote above essentially agrees with the author and perspective of the book! You can't in one breadth agree with content and then condemn the content. Confusing.

Exactly. Tinubu will get to find that the book has cost him more political capital than he hoped to get. The motive is not lost on Northerners and true Buharists. It has backfired tremendously. What is it with them and usage of spouses for political gain. The other day, it was Remi asking Patience Jonathan to smile for the camera in Osun state while she sat there looking forlorn like she was forced to be there. Don't forget, it was Patience who declared support for Tinubu when Jonathan was clearly still nursing a comeback.
Since when is an IPOB now a representative for both Buhari and Jonathan family concurrently.

Is not funny that you are the one talking about Buhari when it was your people that created and spread the evil and malicious story that Buhari was dead and that a clone called Jubrin from Sudan was the one ruling Nigeria not long ago
