Four members of the House of Representatives from Rivers State have formally switched their political allegiance from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The lawmakers’ decision comes barely a week after Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, defected to the ruling party, further reshaping the state’s political landscape.

Those who crossed over to the APC are Manuchim Umezuruike, who represents Port Harcourt I Federal Constituency; Boniface Emerengwa of Ikwerre/Emuoha Federal Constituency; Awake-Inombek Abiante, representing Andoni/Opobo Federal Constituency; and Boma Goodhead, the lawmaker for Asari-Toru Federal Constituency.

The development emphasises a growing realignment among Rivers State political actors following recent shifts at the state level

If the people of Rivers state so resent the president/APC, then it could be a case of them voting for APC in support of Fubara and his team in the upper and lower houses of assembly, then voting against APC in the presidential elections.

It has happened before in several elections in some states in the North. Especially during buhari's time, where a different party was voted for in the gubernatorial and national / state assemblies election and a different party for the presidential elections.

One knew it was just a matter of time for the four remaining hapless members of the RSHA to join the bandwagon.

They knew that they would be left out in the cold should they decide to remain with the PDP in the State which is now only existing in name.

PDP in Rivers State is gone with the wind!

Remaining the Grandmaster himself - H.E Emperor Wike, the Wicked One, the self-acclaimed Madman who would later join the team after completely annihilating the Fee Dee Fee at the federal level.

Fubara has definitely read Wike's books on how to play the political chess game and he's not doing badly.
