A person might decide to take an item off sale in the even that the sale is no longer necessary especially when the intention of the sale was to meet a certain need and the need no longer exists (permanently or temporarily).

Your point of view is not ONE SIZE FITS ALL.
Currently, I have a phone posted for sale but if I get money from an alternative source I WILL take it off sale because I am free to do so.

Fair enough but "closed" usually means "Sold" and as a rule of thumb here if someone closes an item and later opens it again it usually means the person sold it to someone who eventually returned the item usually because it has fault(s)
