oyebanji:Will election loosers read this. If there should be any court verdict on election results that should generate concern zamfara and Bayelsa are in those category, especially Bayelsa, the governor elect lost out because there was discreprancies in the names of the deputy governor elect. |

thatigboman:There was a valid ground and that judgement remains a precedent till today. You can’t exclude votes from certain areas except there are valid grounds for that in line with the law. APC won Imo fair and square. |

WantsandMore:The Supreme Court is a policy court and they can depart from a precedent. In the case of Amaechi vs Omehia, the Supreme Court also departed from the judgement. The case can no longer be cited as a precedent. |

seunmsg:You're simply confirming the writer's stance Most people believe the Bayelsa case was a counter punch to the Imo case. The parlance was if you Tanko me, I'll Odili you. The two examples show how badly our judiciary has become polarised and politicised due to the leprous fingers of the reprobate APC touching its very core starting from the unilateral suspension of a sitting chief justice. The rot keeps getting deeper by the day As for the Zamfara judgement, I think you need to read your electoral act well because party primaries do not fall under internal affairs of a party. They are justiciable |

Another rubbished legacy. They are all over the nation, like the rusting hulks of battle damaged weaponry. Like carcasses of treasure laden sunken ships littering the sea floor. They had sold their souls. Gained food, raiment and all worldly riches. But the only thing they will be remembered by the vast majority people is a sad tale of stolen promises. |

The most pained by the judgement were those who believed that it's the turn of their capital city senatorial zone in Imo state to produce a gov for the state. But alas, they are smiling. Gov Hope Uzodinma apparently believes that every govt development project must be in the state capital., and that development in a state must be for only the state capital, apart from roads. They stopped calling him Supreme Court gov. |

seunmsg:I fact checked what you just typed and I got the following; 1. Supreme Court can depart from precedent: True Explanation: The Court has the inherent power to overrule itself to correct errors. 2. The Court departed from Amaechi vs Omehia False Explanation: The court has not overruled the case; however, the law (Electoral Act) changed. 3. The case cannot be cited as precedent False Explanation: It remains a landmark authority on candidate substitution and party primaries. Over to you: how do you respond? |

Baselm:I really don't understand this people who try to claim they have knowledge,am not a fan of the former CJN,but do they understand that the supreme Court when in session and judgment is made up of 7 Justice?who all will deliver their own version of Judgement with a judgment for or against and 4 to 3 been declared winner .,so why vilify the late CJN?what happened to the others ..or you lots thinks the CJN can order other Justice of the Supreme Court around like his minors? |

oyebanji:if you have common sense you should know that it’s practically impossible for the whole votes from the claimed 388 cancelled polling units to be accrued to just one candidate. An unpopular one at that. That judgement is against everything law stands for. It’s against natural fairness, equity and good conscience. |

Wizvicky:It is not the business of the supreme court to enquire how all votes from 388 units went to APC. It is the business of the tribunal but unfortunately PDP didn't raise this arguments at the tribunal |

The Supreme Court judgment that truly silenced the voice of the people was the decision that upheld the election of Nyesom Wike in Rivers State, along with similar rulings in other states in 2015. It was crystal clear that no proper election took place in Rivers State. The Tribunal and the Court of Appeal acted appropriately by nullifying the declared results and ordering fresh elections. However, the Supreme Court went on to uphold those results. Since then, politicians have learned that all that is required is for INEC to announce results, after which the matter is effectively settled. Election rigging has become nearly impossible to prove. |

xxxx999jon:It was actually a 6 to 1 judgement in favour of Hope Uzodinma. This clearly shows Hope brought compelling evidences and probably the defense did a terrible job or were overconfident and didn't provide the necessary counter evidences. Whatever be the case, even if the CJN was on the panel, he has just 1 vote out of 7 |
