the 3hrs runtime is the only reason why I won’t watch it in cinema and I can only watch this movie from 10pm up completely and I can fast forward it back to some nice scenes which I can’t do in Cinema

Every scene of the movie was a visual spectacle. I don’t remember thinking any part should be removed.

Our viewing was 06:20 p.m. The movie ended at 09:30 p.m. I don’t see what else one would need to do by those times instead of relaxing to enjoy a film. I now remember that most of those who walked out at 1 hour, 2 hours and 2 hours, 30 minutes were women accompanied by potential suitors. What a waste of money. The male by my side brought a female friend who spent the whole movie asking questions.


Though a rehash of The Way Of Water, it will be a waste to skip scenes of any sort. If the movie doesn’t interest you, watch something else.

Cinemas aren’t full anymore. Marvel is going to lose money next year. It’s not about promotion for movies. I believe it is budgets getting overblown without taking into account that consumers will rather wait for streaming. We weren’t up to forty people in the cinema hall today. When I went to watch Predator Badlands, we weren’t more than twenty. Movies with small budgets should be encouraged. Studio executives fed fat on Paranormal Activity which made 194 million dollars off a 100,000 dollar budget. The Blair Witch Project was a similar success.

Well, at least M3gan was a hit. I loved that movie.

It is not just Nigeria, it is a global phenomenon. There are three major reasons why people are not turning up at the cinemas

1. Inflation and high cost- In central London, a blockbuster movie would cost you 15-20 GBP (pounds). That is just your ticket. 15 pounds is 30,000 Naira, for reference. Same goes for inflation and high costs in the USA.

2. Cliche/repetitive movie ideas- Hollywood is running out of ideas; we are now getting remakes, sequels, prequels ect of old intellectual properties and movie franchises. I loved Predator Badlands but I knew how it would end. Also, keep in mind that this is the 7th Predator movie in the franchise (including AVP movies). Only a few movies are actually new ideas.

3. Streaming and social media- why leave my house to the cinema when I am paying almost 40 dollars a month on streaming (Netflix, prime, crunchyroll, disney+ etc) to watch movies at the comfort of my house. Keep in mind that in countries that have winter, the incentive to go out is reduced. Furthermore, I can tell you that I have watched 5 hours of youtube movies analysis on a 2 hour plus movie. Streaming is taking over small by small.

One battle after another isn't suspect IMO.a solid 7/10 movie.

I've not seen Jay Kelly but Adam Sandler is always on point for me so I'll be there.

Lol, that's one of the films I feel would be far from suspect watchlist. It's very much amongst the Best Picture contenders.

But i think we have established here that "Oscars Best Picture ≠ Good film", i mean Anora (2024) was best picture last year, but that's even beside the point.

I found "One Battle After Another (2025)" to be heavily pretentious and a tad silly tbh. The storyline looked alright but the execution was bottom tier, it struggled to be either a serious movie or a satire and spectacularly failing at both in the end. I didn't care for any of the characters because they didn't actually give me anything to care for, Benicio del Toro 4 minutes cameo was perhaps the only good thing about the whole thing. They had a star power like Leonardo diCaprio and they under utilized him, he was basically gone after the first arc of the flick, and relegated to background noise in the 2nd and 3rd arc, meanwhile his face was plastered in all the posters of the flick, only to introduce his "mixed race daughter" and her band of misfits as the star of the show...how misleading and how convenient...

Was it an okay film? ehn maybe, the best picture shouts are stemming from the perceived subject matter of the film, and how it ties with current events, with the ICE issh and all, it's like a political manifesto, a middle finger to the right if you will, but the actual film is a blubbering mess tbh, and i have not sonner deleted a film, like I did this, after seeing it.

If it's best picture shouts gets louder than this, best believe, i might start an hate campaign in the scale of Emilia Perèz 👍🏿

Was first introduced to him as Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat (1995). Would go on to enjoy his craft in different media from live-action roles to voice work. His narration of the Overwatch cinematic short, Dragons, is absolutely majestic to this day.
