I made a decision in january this year to make my firet million because i was practically broke and i want to put an end to suffering forever. I hustled and saved up like my life depends on it and also deprived myself of enjoyment and even buying cloth or new shoes. i starved so many times and never gave up on my goals. Thanks to cowrywise who taught me to be disciplined and never allow me touch my savings.

Like they say the first million is the hardest to get and once you achieve that the second and third will come faster. Glory to God, you can check my past topic when i was coming up to 700k....

God has been faithful and i pray for more glory in my life.

It is not easy at first but when the money starts compounding, your contribution becomes little.

Unpopular opinion, the rates they give are abysmal for any hope of getting rich from it. Practically, If I ask you to lend me #1 million naira and next year December, I will pay you back with extra #120,000, will you accept it?
No, because it's too small.

Investments generally are either too slow or too risky. It only makes sense when you have a sizeable amount. Like ten million where you can make an extra #1m in a year doing nothing. At least, its enough to feed and pay average rent.

To get rich, you need solid cash flow. Income. Daily, monthly, quarterly returns that are substantial. And you can only get that through a high paying job or thriving business that moves volume.

Saving will only take you so far and one, just one spending will send you back to root one.

Invest in yourself, hone your technical or business skills and expand that. Then you start relying on saving or investments as your source of getting richer.

Most high yield savings account are around 15 to 23% per annum using piggyvest, cowrywise,Vdf bank or Fairmoney. You can use these instruments to generate sizeable passive income without lifting a finger instead of the the traditional brick and mortar banks.

I'm not an aggressive investor, I don't do equities because your capital is not guaranteed. However, mutual funds are also good with nice interest rates and guaranteed capital preservation.

Setting up an emergency funds is also very important so you don't run the risk of always attacking your investments to settle emergencies.

The essence of investing and saving is to develop that culture of setting something aside so that when the massive inflows start coming, you are already knowledgeable in it.
