Happy Sunday, Christians on Nairaland ✝️
As we approach Christmas, what does the birth of Jesus truly mean to you beyond celebration and food?

The birth of Jesus to me is the incarnation of divinity in mortal flesh. It's like the concept of the avatar in Hinduism where we have deity in humanity. The bible in John 1:14 says that the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us. (Talk about the gods amongst us.) This is epitomised in the way Jesus was conceived: by a virgin who was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit:

[[Luke 1:35 KJV]] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Well said. To me, the birth of Jesus represents God’s love made real divinity entering humanity for our redemption and hope. It’s more than a concept; it’s the foundation of our faith.
