Video: Police Take Over Azbir Hotel, Azbir Arena Linked to Ex-AGF Abubakar Malami in Kebbi
Security operatives have reportedly taken control of the Azbir Hotel and Azbir Arena, properties linked to former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), in Kebbi State.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that police personnel were deployed to the facilities early on Tuesday, effectively restricting access to the premises. The reason for the police presence has not been officially disclosed as of the time of filing this report.

A video circulating on social media shows armed officers stationed at strategic points around the hotel and event centre, while movements in and out of the facilities appeared tightly controlled.

Attempts to get a response from the former minister or the Kebbi State Police Command were unsuccessful, as no official statement had been released regarding the development.

The situation has sparked widespread reactions, with residents and political observers closely monitoring events, amid speculations over the circumstances surrounding the security operation.

Forget what he seems to you. The court needs to declare him guilty. We are in a democracy. Tinubu also seem guilty to a lot of Nigerians, that doesn't mean they should brand him what he looks like. Ask yourself, why has he not been charged to court if EFCC has any evidence against him? You can't keep a man in custody while scouting for evidence to convict him. That's reminiscent of military regimes.

Is the goal to have him in perpetual detention or to convict him of the corruption that you have accused him of in a competent court of jurisdiction? It's been weeks of so much noise. Malami is still yet to be charged to court.

To correct you, depending on the seriousness of the alleged crime under investigation, and the risk that the alleged perpetrator may flee the country, a person can, subject to the permission of a court, be held in custody while investigation is ongoing.

In this instance, a court is authorising the continuing detention of Mr Malami. That is due process, and it is constitutional.

Mr Malami can also challenge his continuing detention in court if he chooses.

When will Tinubu also arraign Malami for him to prove his guilt or innocence? Malami is a SAN. I'm sure he can defend himself. The EFCC is not the courts. You haven't charged a man to court but you are smearing his name and shutting down his businesses.
