helinues:I don't know if YAYI has served Ogun state in any capacity before politically or am I missing something here? |

Without Yayi and Ogun west, Dapo would never have “won” in 2019 & 2023. Personally, I am not a fan of Yayi but it is his turn. |

achorladey:No, he hasn't before just in 2023. He cross over to Ogun state to contest the senatorial seat when he realized his chances of becoming Lagos state governor is not there. Before then, what has he done for the people of Ogun West not to talk of Ogun state people entirely? It's like he's taking the people from the state as mumu. Sango Ota road have been in dilapidated state for decades. What's his role as a senator if not to oversight the projects in his constituency, state and beyond . The contract for that road have been awarded severally with nothing tangible done..What has he been oversighting? |

helinues:He crossed over to contest Ogun gov Lagos gov had never been on the cards for him. The reason he remained a Lagos senator was because Amosun was not ready to entertain him in Ogun in any form. It’s only when Amosun left office that he was able to cross over. The senate seat was his reward for helping Dapo in 2019. Amosun never gave him the senate ticket. |

helinues:Alright, we see how they align this time around.i haven't seen the hands of Amosun yet. |

Successive governors in OGUN State have played the godfather factor to their successors, which isn't our of place to how politics is played in the country. But I think the people of OGUN West can have their fate in their hands by unanimously present a common front in YAYI anything shot of that will amount to shooting themselves on the foot. I've seen that people like,GNI, Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade and some other OGUN West indigens have indicated interest but YAYI stands shoulder tall ahead of all of them. Only a UNITED OGUN West approach will prevent thunder from striking the third time. |

casualobserver:So if he indeed had Ogun people at heart, how come they have not been seeing his hand when he was representing Lagos state? If he indeed care about his own people from Ogun West, why is the Sango Ota road still in dilapidated. Even though his duty is not to build the road but to oversight. The road contract have been awarded severally, what has he Yayi been oversighting? Why has he refused to speak up on what he observed from his oversighting except if he had a share |

achorladey:Bankole might be the one behind the Egba meeting lately. I don't have any information yet You know he deliberately contested the Apc presidential primary and stepped down. |
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by achorladey: 8:38am On Dec 22, 2025 |
helinues:Since he crossed year 2023 one can cut him some slack over his senatorial district because he cannot be a senator in Lagos and be spending it on Ogun West ![]() |
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by helinues: 8:40am On Dec 22, 2025 |
achorladey:Spending? Nobody is expecting him to spend anything. Just oversight the federal government projects in the areas he claimed he cared about. Lagos- Ibadan express way is another re awarded contract which is still yet to be done properly. |

Bostin:Yayi will win as long as Tinubu is President Dapo is an orphan in Ogun state politics, he can’t influence shit Even the Ijebus where he comes from do not like him |
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by casualobserver: 8:43am On Dec 22, 2025*. Modified: 9:38am On Dec 22, 2025 |
helinues:Note I said in the first post that I am not a fan of his…..just stating the politics, not whether he will be a good governor. Politically, he is popular in Ogun west, to understand why, you would have to ask Ogun west people. I don’t know what he does. I don’t like him, I don’t like the way he carries himself, I just have a negative feel about him. He gives me bad vibes. But without Ogun west, Dapo would not be governor and he played a major role in delivering Ogun West. |

No sane Ogun indigene will support the candidate of Dapo Abiodun. Everyone knows Yayi is the man for now. Only an inside candidate will contest against him in 2027, i. e if Yayi still has the support of Emi lokan o |

| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by helinues: 8:46am On Dec 22, 2025 |
casualobserver:Bro, there is no sense in him contesting Ogun state governor. This same man represented Lagos senatorial district for almost a decade if not more. He didn't remember about Ogun state when he was representing Lagos state? If he truly care about Ogun state he would have switched long time as he's currently representing Ogun West senatorial district. What an insult to the people the state. He should go and govern where he represented for a decade. What rubbish |
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by casualobserver: 8:49am On Dec 22, 2025 |
helinues:Well there is ideal situation and there is the reality on ground. All things being equal I expect him to be governor and I expect him to be a disaster as a governor. Dapo may have other ideas. PS: when you say he should have switched, he wanted to switch during Amosun’s era (2019). Amosun sent him back to Lagos with his tail between his legs and backed Odebiyi. It was only after Dapo won that he was able to secure the ticket at the next cycle (2023). |

achorladey:Hahaha, Bankole stepped down for president Tinubu including Amosun. There must be a reason for contesting in the first place |
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by helinues: 8:52am On Dec 22, 2025 |
lenghtinny:PA to Tinubu and Yayi, how you dey I don't know about other regions I. Ogun state oo, but you see the Ogun central, it's the people that can tell president Tinubu what they want to do, not that president can tell them what to do. If their opinions merged, that's a different scenario |
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by lenghtinny(m): 8:55am On Dec 22, 2025 |
helinues:You Dey talk Ogun West, East, Central politics bla bla bla ![]() Was it Ogun East turn when Dapo snatched the seat even though he was unpopular Whoever APC presents is going to be the next governor and that is Yayi whether you like it or not |
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by helinues: 8:56am On Dec 22, 2025 |
lenghtinny:We don't have short memory here. When Amosun presented Akinlande from Ogun West as his successor before completing his second term, why did GNI from same Ogun West contest? So which turn are you talking about? |

helinues:You won't rest on the westerner's choice. If you have your central candidate, present it and stop hiding behind a finger. The sky is big enough for everybody to project his candidate. |

| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by achorladey: 9:15am On Dec 22, 2025 |
helinues:The problem is politics. Politics here in Nigeria always come with numerous alignment and realignment. Some jurisdictions are sometimes not crossed if there are bigger plans to achieve using that same jurisdiction. They all count as strategies to achieve certain objectives |
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by helinues: 9:16am On Dec 22, 2025 |
achorladey:He shouldn't have represented Lagos state for that long.
|
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by achorladey: 9:18am On Dec 22, 2025 |
helinues:The clamour around that time is for power to head to Ogun West, GNI can contest no doubt since he does not align with Amosun. Remember that was the problem leading to shared vote around that region that favours Dapo Abiodun |
| Re: Ogun 2027: Will Lightning Strike A Third Time? by helinues: 9:20am On Dec 22, 2025 |
achorladey:They divided their votes. Had they work together, their combination would have produced more than the 2 votes they received in combine as Ogun central might have a change of mind about their seriousness |
