All I read was a lot of mumbo-jumbo with no head or tail. The National Assembly adopted a special approach in passing this tax bill due to its sensitive nature. 40 members of the House of reps and 40 senators with representation from each state were selected to sit and harmonise the law. What was harmonised by these legislators was deliberated upon, passed and forwarded to the president and the house of reps member who raised this observation on forgery was a member of that committee. There's no different house of reps version or a senate version.

Read more below...

what they tend to is try to creat confusion they play our intelligence at Will .. see the nonsense he was explaining

That how they say the poor wont pay Tax its only 800k above annually , in this country today if you live below 66k per month ... sapa is an understatement

What is fraudulent about it? It is a known fact that human beings hate change, people like yourself who love the status quo, & add no benefit to society, speaking with both sides of your mouth making up excuses because u do not want to live up to your statutory obligation of paying your taxes.
One thing is very sure, you actually don't know what this issue is all about!

Even the house version seem better.

The gazette version says in case you want to appeal a case related to your tax, you have to pay a 20 percent security deposit.

They are ready yall to take as much as possible cheesy

No, nobody likes paying taxes, that is why the rich carry their money to tax havens, if u don’t pay your taxes in the countries u cited, the UK, & USA u will go to prison.

That is why u people are crying about any amendments about this law passed, u don’t want to pay your taxes, but expect not to go to prison for it.

The government has said add it to the law, if u don’t pay your tax, u go to prison like it is in the countries that u cited i.e. The USA, & The U.K., una start to shout fraud, we no gree.

Why should I pay 25 percent of my income as a freelancer who sourced projects abroad?

If I made 20m last year and didnt pay income tax but paid all other rediculous taxes, and spent 4m on home generator fueling, repair and electricity because my house needs light, now excluding the fueling for work place. Then next year, Tinubu takes about 5m of my income as tax. He has reduced my purchasing power, what now happens to the 4m I spent on fueling and generator at home? Does he have plan to allow me deduct such expenses since govt is supposed to provide me with electricity? we arent talking about fueling for business place, most homes run fuel for over 14 hours daily aside their business place fueling o.
If Tinubu takes about 5m from my 20m, I am left with 15m. This means I cant be able to handle the stuff I was able to handle with my 20m earning. If he took 5m and provided me with electricity which means I wont need to spend such to get light, that is fair. Now, there are other stuff. He has reduced my purchasing power drastically. the tax law is fraudulenet. Also, why sign agreement with France without approval from National assembly. Who does that? And why cant he publish the details of the contract? He signed contract with another conuntry and we are to pay for it but we dont know the contract. Omo, una dey support rubbish o. God forbid, I cant be a data boy. U want to tax me like developed country but I dont enjoy anything the developed countries enjoy. WTF is wrong with u all?
U should be talking about 2 percent income tax and no tax on foreign sourced income until you have a solid public infrastructure that the foriegn sourced income earners can enjoy. I just finished fixing my car tyres again. I fix it almost 7 times in a month becus of bad roads. Omo, una dey support rubbish.

Taiwo Oyedele has already brilliantly explained fully that there is NO discrepancy here. Is it too difficult for these people to understand?

The new tax policy even favors about 90% of folks in Nigeria who do NOT earn over N100,000 and above monthly as they will NOT be paying PAYE and more.
