dominion001:He was also unhappy with the coach. Even the coach seemed to have pleaded with him, and explaining why he was substituted. After the match Osimhen also complained to another Nigerian official |

why do we like deceiving ourselves? why sticking with Nwabali all the time? Look for better local natural cats in Nigeria local professional or even amateur clubs, many of them are far better than this Nwabali that is always feigning injuries at every of his silly mistakes and cluelessness #Nigerians deserve better |

internationalman:If Iwobi is the best midfielder in Super Eagles, Then they are all finished. No insult on little brother, But that is just the truth. |

Reference:He saved two PKs during the shootout against Congo, so what are you saying? Even in AFCON'23 against SA, he made two saves in the PK shootout. In a PK shootout, if your GK makes a save, then he's done more than you can ask of him. The onus is on the kicking players to convert all their PKs |

Cmanforall:They all train together, if they were better don't you think the coach would pick them ahead of Iwobi? If he, Iwobi was not good, top EPL teams like Everton and Fulham wouldn't be playing him week in week out. He is one of the best players in Fulham this season and even last season. |

femi4:Femi, Below was what you said initially. Accept your mistake sometimes and move on from it. Come on. femi4:You even had to quickly edit the Dino out Cos you cannot accept your mistake. What a shame. ZaddyJ, leave Femi abeg, Some people don't like corrections.

Africa football has improved tremendously. No minor team. Stop blaming Super Eagles of Nigeria. A lot of Africa footballers were playing outside the continent and they also watch league going on in world football through football media. Whenever Nigeria play any team in Africa , their opponents always display high tempo football. I remembered their coach said that if they win Nigeria today, he is not bother about any other match , he has already win AFCON by beating Nigeria. |

Clevite:Remember the last AFCON, it wasn't like this one that people are expecting something tangible from them. But they surprised us all cause they got better after each game, up until the final. For this tournament, let's hope they get better as things progress too. |

internationalman:Who are ‘they’? Those mostly selected based connections or lobbying power? Iwobi can be good, but he’s not the best Nigeria can produce. There are lots of lobbying in order to play for the Super Eagles. Iwobi won’t swear he didn’t lobby. If you know some Super Eagles players, just ask them. It was only Keshi, who gave players who didn’t have the lobbying power of foreign currency to play for the National Team There are lots of Potentials in Nigeria |

Akinola100:At least he scored our second goal. To play at this level of football is not easy. See a lot of scoring chances our Osi men missed. Stop blaming any one of the players. They all have their days. Osinmen days is not today. Don't be surprised, that is how we will play it and get to the final. Afcon is Nigeria birth right. Our worst is semi final. |

Nigeria started its TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco 2025 campaign with a 2-1 victory over Tanzania at the Fez Stadium on Tuesday evening. Ademola Lookman, the 2024 CAF African player of the year scored what would be the winner, just a minute after Tanzania’s equalizer in the second half. Semi Ajayi had given the Super Eagles a 1`-0 halftime lead, before Tanzania rallied to equalize through Charles M’Mbowa. However, it was the Nigerian side which would have the final laugh. Ajayi broke the deadlock with a thumping header in the 36th minute, rising highest to head in an Alex Iwobi cross after a short start to a corner. Nigeria had won the corner after Tanzanian defender Bakari Mwamnyeto had cleared Victor Osimhen’s effort off the line. With a 1-0 lead at halftime, and having dominated scoring chances, Nigeria were well in the driver’s seat. In the second half, they thought they were off to a flier when Osimhen backheeled a cross into the net just 47 seconds in, but the flag was up for offside and VAR ruling the same. Two minutes on the turn, Tanzania equalized. A brilliant ball from Novatus Dismas lofted behind the defence picked up M’Mbowa’s run, the midfielder sliding in to finish past Stanley Nwabali. However, the joy of the equalizer lasted less than a minute as Lookman pulled a piece of individual brilliance, striking an unstoppable curler from the edge of the box. Tanzania rallied to try scrape for a point and came close with two minutes left but Ibrahim Hamad’s volley from a p[oorly defended corner at close range was wild and wide

post=137888471:Iwobi is good at distributing the ball and picking players out in open spaces as evident in this match. That's his strength and that's why he gets picked ahead of anyone in Super Eagles and Fulham. His weakness is his inability to make good decision in the final third. |

This is not the best of performance but the win is important. They moved the ball faster all thanks to the absence of the old school boring supporters club who use their boring songs to slow down the SE. The supporters club need to be banned, we need purposeful football not boring lazy passes. Osimhen is not a world class player. He may be earning more than others but he needs to learn to play football with his teammates. He is wasteful Infront of goal, makes hasty runs and complains when he doesn't get a pass. Nwabali is overrated The Coach did well by making them move the ball faster and created more chances |
