Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says President Bola Tinubu is positioned for re-election in 2027, citing what he describes as successful reforms under the current administration.
Speaking on Television Continental’s Journalist Hangout program Monday, Mr Sanwo-Olu pointed to increased government revenues, improvements in governance structures, and growing political support as indicators of the president’s strengthening position ahead of the next electoral cycle.

“The reforms in President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda have impacted governance and infrastructural development across the country,” the governor stated, adding that both national and state governments have seen improved revenue collection since the administration took office.

Mr Sanwo-Olu highlighted what he characterized as economic improvements, including reduced food prices, increased foreign investment, and greater engagement from Nigeria’s diaspora community. He acknowledged ongoing challenges but expressed confidence in the president’s approach to addressing them.

The governor noted a shift in the political landscape, pointing out that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expanded from approximately 20 state governors after the 2023 elections to between 28 and 29 currently—a development he views as evidence of growing support for the president’s agenda.

“Nigerians would vote for him because they can see that this President has done more work for us. He has done many of the things he promised to do,” Mr Sanwo-Olu said.

On revenue improvements specifically, the governor credited the Tinubu administration with closing financial loopholes and strengthening compliance measures, which he said has enabled states to invest more heavily in infrastructure projects.

Mr Sanwo-Olu also discussed his own administration’s initiatives in Lagos State, referencing progress under the THEMES+ Agenda across sectors including transportation, security, entertainment, tourism, environmental management, and technology development.

They are not happy going to super mall seeing Nigerians shopping no matter how little..That is why ds devilish man came on board to weaponize poverty..people now eats junks to fulfill d law of hunger.. people now care less about their looks,,all they think is survival..God will manifest his power before 2027..
