Unfortunately he won't have access to that motor forever because the billing he will receive for that motor to be cleared will pass 1million. He will be arrested, the motor will be impounded, he will be tested for drugs and I am 100 percent sure that they won't pass him even if he is drug free. He will be sentenced to prison at least 6 months. He won't do Xmas in his house. By the time he is a free man, he won't be able to pay to secure his motor because they would have tested the motor road worthiness which he will fail too. He, the officer will be commended and can even get governors recommendations. He will be promoted too.
Too many problems for the guy for just losing his temper. He has never known how terrible offence he has put himself into. Those evil lasma guys always looking for this type of opportunities. They may not even work again today cos this is a big fish for them.
There are some fights you just need to weigh the outcome and just overlooked by negotiation.

Hmmm, I pity the driver and his innocent family members, not because of what he might have experienced before this scenario but for deciding to send himself to prison for his inability to control his anger.

Some people are foolish enough not to know when or how to fight.

You want to unleash your anger and it is to a Lagos State Authority agent in uniform at the point of his duty in his own territory in Lagos! Haa! I pity your life because you will be inside for God knows how long. That your frustration that you could not keep in your house before coming out will be relegated when you get to where you belong.

It is not done anywhere in the world. You don't assault a government agent in uniform. It is tantamount to assaulting the government itself.

You will learn the hard way.

A culture of impunity and antagonism or lack of respect for human rights erodes and sign of civility. We can't continue to live like this.

What Law and order did the driver breaks... Let's judge from der..

You don't expect a lagos commercial driver to driver normal in this over saturated transportation business and festive period..

As a family man.. responsibility lies on his shoulders...

So Law enforcers should use realistic human systematic approach to arrest traffic offenders..

Not by gragra...

Customers are saving cost, . Drivers as daily target to meet... Aside other operating cost ..

This is the season of Love not hatred..

Peace and love .
Which sense this one make now from this statement. The driver's anger will cost him more at the end of the day. Bus impounded, himself detained, huge loss of revenue. This what could have been settled with couple of thousands.

Honestly some of them are evil. Let's be real. They always set trap for motorists. But in this scenario, they were doing their job. They have lots of evidence to nail the guy.

You have said it all, nothing to add or subtract. The driver just did himself in. I’m a former commercial bus driver, even though we know how frustrating Lastma guys can be. You just don’t do this

Watching this video only accentuate the level of decadence bedevilling our nation.
The driver to me was only pouring out his frustration which was intentionally piled up by the so called LASMA Officer.
If you have had one or two encounter with these guys u will understand what I am talking about

These guys most times tends to overdo your work most times which is definitely not encouraging.
frustration don make you slap sanwo Olu…body go tell you, whether na only you Dey buy Peper for market
Re: Lagos Commercial Bus Driver Publicly Assaults LASMA Officer (Photos, Video) by Kalulu44: 11:38am On Dec 24, 2025
Hahahaha, I no fit laugh.
First of all, make this driver just forget that him korope. That bus don go forever. Secondly for a very long while him no go see outside, na prison get am.
The only thing that can make him not spend upto a week in cell or prison and probably get his bus back is if he knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody that knows Sanwo Olu hahahaha.
.
And now to my own assessment of the situation.
I’m a former commercial bus driver, in fact I just retire earlier this year in Lagos. Honestly I know how a pain in the neck these lastma guys can be, but no matter what, this particular driver went too far.
To the commercial bus driver still driving in Lagos and are on this forum. Pls my advice to you, in whatever route you are driving. Try and know the head of Lastma and police in that route. And when I mean try and know, na money things o.
At least once in a week, always park one side, go to their head/Oga and drop like 1 or 2k or more if you feel like.
Once in awhile too, drop for the boys. With that your work in these routes will be easy. But that doesn’t give you right to behave anyhow on the road or drive against traffic/one way.
We know most times you may park and pick passengers at an undesignated bus stops, or not parking properly at a bus stop. Your knowing those officers will still give you some privilege of not being arrested.
In my over 20 yrs of driving, i don’t think i have been to Lastma office upto 5 times. And it was those times when i never know wetin dey and how dem dey run the parole

From the video you can clearly observe that the driver had passenger waiting for him don in the bus.
It looks very easy to nail the blame on the poor driver because he reacted angrily but I really do feel for him cos he ended up as the villian in that particular scenario.

Everybody should be guided out there and to tame their frustration so as not to fall victim to such kind of scenario.
"passengers waiting" no be excuse to assault a government official anywhere in the world. Don't make excuses for a man who can't put his emotions in check. Plus, I have never come across a transport worker who cares about his passengers, especially in Lagos. They are always greedy and opportunistic

Watch this explosive moment caught on camera in the heart of Lagos traffic chaos! A frustrated commercial bus driver completely loses it during a confrontation with a LASMA (Lagos State Traffic Management Authority) officer — allegedly over a traffic violation or extortion dispute.
The video shows the driver unleashing a barrage of punches and slaps on the uniformed officer right on a busy Lagos road. A brave bystander jumps in and delivers a sharp slap to the driver to break up the scuffle. The scene escalates quickly amid honking horns, shouting passengers, and stunned onlookers.
This raw footage highlights the daily tensions between Lagos drivers and traffic enforcers — from economic hardships to alleged harassment — that often boil over on the streets.

Last visit to Nigeria i was civil, the next time I would climb their legs if they jump on my bonnet. God bless them if the road is straight up
