The Keke guy that takes my kids to school says his weekly remittance to the owner of the Keke he drives is N50k and he gets to keep about 70 to 100k weekly. Do the maths.

**Use around 800k - 1m from the money to deposit with a microfinance bank or cooperative, let them help you get a new Keke while you balance them as you ride.

I have been a transporter and I can tell you there are very few jobs that can have as much cash flow. I called it cash flow instead of income because a lot of things distract the person from arranging and growing the money. As soon as work goes well, police or agbero wahala go occur. If he manage close work, the operator drops food money for house without budgeting, impulsively buys tyre or whatever parts or decoration he's been wanting to buy, has to pay for his weekly lease, patronises food vendors, bars and joints with a big heart and carries a fat wallet to follow n¥a$h.
Starts the next morning with barely enough money to buy fuel.
A transporter doesn't need to make you think highly of him. The truth is he's miles above you, only and only if he can be disciplined in his dealings.

I remember my days riding Bolt. You’d see ₦100,000 on the Bolt dashboard and think you’ve made money, but when you check the actual cash in your hand, it’s barely ₦20,000–₦30,000.

Why? Because reality hits hard. Bolt takes its commission first. Fuel collects its own share. Car maintenance is constant oil, tyres, repairs. Then there’s police “settlement”, unexpected road issues, and even the food you eat just to survive the day.

By the time all these expenses are deducted, the big figure on the dashboard is just an illusion.

This is exactly why keke (tricycle) driving in Nigeria is often not as profitable as it looks from the outside.

People see daily cash flow and assume drivers are making serious money, but they don’t see the hidden costs. Daily levies to unions, local government tickets, police harassment, frequent breakdowns, rising fuel prices, and personal upkeep all eat deep into earnings.
At the end of the day, what looks like good turnover is not the same as real profit.

Many keke drivers are just circulating money, working long hours, taking health risks, and still struggling to save or grow.

The hustle keeps you busy, but financially, it barely moves you forward.

The second Keke I bought with my own 1.5M earlier this year,I spent over 600k just to put it in order... But unfortunately,it couldn't work out well and I ended up in debts of 150k..... I don't know for any other location, but I know that in uyo the type of lives keke riders live doesn't depict 300k monthly earnings. (I might be wrong)

N75,000/week breaks down to N12,500 per day

Remember this is all gross.

Just a trip of less than 20 minutes they can have over 2k. You see transportation if whatever means of transportation you are using if you are the owner you be big boy.
You can have nothing less than 60k running Warri to PH daily with a sound vehicle.
