That's crazy mehnn. He mastered it. I remember him saving Messi's penalties on two different occasions. He was so close to saving number three(got a hand to it). Beast Gk at PKs.

Saving PK is a pretty underrated skill. In the quarter final of the 2014 FIFA world cup, Van Gaaal introduced Tim Krul who's known for saving penalties and he did the job. In the semi final, he allowed Cillessen who's not great at it and they were knocked out.

Just yesterday, the team who had a GK that's good at penalties went through to the next round. All these things no be coincidence.

While some goalkeepers are good at reading where the taker intends to place the ball, but it ultimately boils down to the taker’s execution, whether he gets it right or wrong.
As Pelé once said "only a badly taken penalty gets saved".
If the execution is right no keeper will save a pk, that's is why over 90% of pks is scored.
