Wike-led PDP Faction Appoints Caretaker Committee for Oyo State

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Barrister Nyesom Wike has appointed a 17-member Caretaker Committee for Oyo State, effective December 24, 2025.

Professor Abdulrahman Akinoso has been named Chairman, while Dr. Biola Olanipekun serves as Secretary.

The committee's primary responsibility is to oversee the party's affairs in Oyo State for a period not exceeding 30 days, as stipulated in Section 21(2) (a-b) of the party's constitution.

Members of the committee include Hon. Ali Hammed Okesola, Hon. Kabiru Adesokan, and Comrade Akinloye Oyeniyi, among others.

In a statement, National Organising Secretary Hon. Umar M. Bature congratulated the appointed members and charged them with the task of ensuring the party's smooth operation in Oyo State.

The appointment is seen as a move to reposition the party for future electoral successes in the state.

All the present set of governors in Nigeria are weak. If someone has tried this with Wike when he was governor, all the appointed people will all be out of circulation in a month. The one that they will implicate with drugs planted in their cars will be batttling with NDLEA while some will be implicated with gun running. The chairman own na him go worst pass because he will be implicated with kidnapping. All these governors need to learn how to be brutal to opposition from Wike. They should go and ask Danagogo

Tinubu is really spending tax payers money. No wonder they want to keep on taxing everyone just to keep on generating money to bribe these ignoble politicians. If Wike can get faction in Oyo state where the governor is a big PDP member then what should we say. Despite the allegation that Wike wanted to hold PDP for Tinubu presidency, some people still have effontery to be in support. Tinubu is truly running this country aground.
