Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Condemns “Attacks On Christians In Nigeria,” Says Violence “Must End Now”
December 25, 2025
NEWS

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has condemned the persecution of Christians and adherents of other religions across parts of the world, specifically calling out militant attacks against Christians in Nigeria, saying such violence “must end, and it must end now.”

Netanyahu made the remarks in his Christmas message delivered from Jerusalem, where he extended greetings to Christians globally and used the occasion to contrast what he described as religious freedom in Israel with persecution in other parts of the Middle East and beyond.

“From Jerusalem, I send warm greetings to our Christian friends around the world. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” Netanyahu said, speaking from what he described as “the Holy Land, Israel, the only country in the Middle East where the Christian community is thriving.”

The Israeli leader claimed that Israel remains “the only country in the Middle East where Christians can practise their faith with full rights and in total freedom,” adding that Christian pilgrims are “embraced with open arms” and Christians are able to “celebrate proudly their traditions and openly do so without any fear.”

Netanyahu cited Jerusalem as an example, stating that the city municipality “every year officially distributes Christmas trees,” a practice he said has been ongoing “for two decades.”

He contrasted this with an incident he referenced in the occupied Palestinian territories, saying that “a few days ago, in the Palestinian town of Jenin, Palestinians burnt a Christmas tree in the Holy Redeemer Church.”

“That’s the difference,” Netanyahu said, asserting that Israel “stands up for Christians across the region, wherever they face widespread intimidation and persecution.”

He further claimed that while Israel’s Christian population is growing, Christian communities in many parts of the Middle East have been shrinking due to what he described as “systematic discrimination and oppression.”

“This has happened in Iraq, it’s happened in Syria, it’s happened in Lebanon, it’s happened in Turkey, and it’s happening in the Palestinian Authority,” Netanyahu said.

Referencing Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, Netanyahu said the city “used to have 80 percent Christian population,” adding, “That’s when we were there.”

He claimed that after control was handed to the Palestinian Authority, the Christian population “has since dwindled from 80 percent to 20 percent.”

In a direct reference to Nigeria, Netanyahu said, “The persecution of Christians or members of any religion cannot and must not be tolerated. And Muslim militant displacement and attacks against Christians in Nigeria, that too must end, and it must end now.”

He concluded the address by reiterating Israel’s support for Christians worldwide, saying, “I’m sending Israel’s Christmas blessings to our Christian friends around the world, and I ask you, know that Israel will always stand with you.”

What is Netanyahu's real agenda here? How is he mentioning Nigeria in his Christmas speech?

I hope our leaders are not going to be fooled by this attention seeking.

Plus a million innocent babies and children.

You people always omit the millions of innocent babies you slaughter.

But guess what?

GOD REMEMBERS ALL THEIR NAMES.

And YOU will be held to account for supporting their mass slaughter.

Your bravado will end when you face your Maker.

And there will be no Netanyahu, IDF, Fox News, or Trump there to save you.

Israel Announces ‘New Front’ To Protect Christian Communities In Middle East And Africa, Including Nigeria
January 1, 2026
NEWS

Netanyahu said their support was central to the emergence and survival of Israel, noting that “Christian Zionism facilitated the rise and success of Jewish Zionism.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel will open what he described as a new front aimed at protecting Christian communities across Africa and the Middle East, amid what he said were growing global threats to what he termed the “Judeo-Christian civilization.”

Netanyahu made the remarks in a public speech delivered on Wednesday and uploaded on the Israeli Prime Minister’s official YouTube channel.

Addressing an audience he identified as Christian Zionists, Netanyahu said their support was central to the emergence and survival of Israel, noting that “Christian Zionism facilitated the rise and success of Jewish Zionism.”

“You are representatives of the Christian Zionists who made Jewish Zionism possible,” he said, adding that the partnership between Christian Zionists and Israel had been “an enormous partnership” that had endured “through thick and thin.”

The Israeli leader stated that Israel had recently fought what he described as a “seven-front war” and emerged “in many ways victorious,” but insisted that a new challenge had now emerged.

“But there’s an eighth front,” Netanyahu said. “And that’s the front for the hearts and minds of people, especially young people.”

According to him, the battle was not Israel’s alone but one that affected the United States, their alliance, and what he described as “the future of Western civilization.”

“I think it’s our common Judeo-Christian civilization’s battle,” he said, stressing that the front must be engaged “as forcefully, with as much resolution as we engage the other seven fronts.”

Netanyahu also rejected calls for religious restraint in the face of violence, declaring that “faith should speak its voice and terrorism should be confronted, not understood, confronted and defeated.”

He disclosed that he had spoken with U.S. President Donald Trump, stating that he saw the struggle against Israel and what he described as the Judeo-Christian tradition as a global battle.

“I see the battle against us and the battle against our Judeo-Christian tradition basically being waged around the globe,” he said.

Netanyahu identified what he called “radical Shiite Islam and radical Sunni Islam” as the main forces waging that battle, pointing to Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood as leading what he described as opposing axes.

“They go to Europe, they go to the United States, they go to Africa, Nigeria,” he said.

Referring specifically to the persecution of Christians, Netanyahu said Israel was “conscious of the fact that Christians are being persecuted across the Middle East, in Syria, in Lebanon, in Nigeria, in Turkey and beyond.”

He claimed that Israel is the only country that “protects the Christian community, enables it to grow, defends it, and makes sure that it thrives.”

“And that country is Israel. There is no other, none,” he said.

The Israeli Prime Minister announced that Israel was joining efforts to form what he described as “a United Nations of countries that support Christian communities around the world,” particularly “beleaguered communities who deserve our help.”

He added that Israel was capable of supporting such efforts “in Africa, with intel, in the Middle East, with a lot of means,” stressing that protecting Christian communities was “a main part of our agenda” and would continue “with greater force and greater might in this coming year.”

Netanyahu concluded the speech by extending what he described as a “belated happy Christmas” and “a happy new year,” expressing hope for “prosperity, peace, and security for all of us, but especially for the Christian communities around the world.”

US Lawmaker Moore Condemns ISWAP's Fresh Threat Against Nigerian Christians After Adamawa Attack
January 1, 2026
NEWS

A United States Lawmaker, Rep. Riley M. Moore has strongly condemned a reported threat by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), which allegedly warned Christians in Nigeria to convert to Islam or face death, describing the situation as clear religious persecution.

In a post shared Thursday on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the West Virginia Republican said the statement attributed to ISWAP removes any doubt that Christians in Nigeria are being targeted specifically because of their faith.

“If there were any remaining doubts that Christians in Nigeria are being targeted for their faith in Jesus Christ, this should end that debate,” Moore wrote.

He added, “This isn’t about land usage, ‘climate change,’ or any other argument the Left wants to make. This is persecution of our brothers and sisters for their faith in Christ, plain and simple.”

Moore was reacting to reports that ISWAP released an image showing a Christian village in Adamawa State engulfed in flames, accompanied by a statement declaring that Christians across Nigeria are “legitimate targets.”

The Islamic terrorist group allegedly said Christians could “spare their blood” by converting to Islam or by paying the jizyah tax, a levy historically imposed on non-Muslims under extremist interpretations of Islamic rule.

Referring to the language used by the terrorist, Moore said the threat mirrors tactics used by ISIS in other parts of the world.

“ISIS is telling Christians they have an opportunity to ‘spare their blood’ if they convert,” he wrote.

“Our brothers and sisters will not bend the knee to anyone but our Lord and Savior though.”

The congressman also expressed support for ongoing U.S. engagement with Nigeria to combat extremist violence.

He praised the Biden administration’s cooperation with Nigerian authorities, saying, “Thankfully, @POTUS is continuing to work in cooperation with the Nigerian government to stop these Islamic radicals and defend our brothers and sisters in Christ.”

Nigeria has for years faced deadly attacks from jihadist groups, including Boko Haram and its offshoot ISWAP, particularly in the northeast.

Human rights organisations and religious freedom advocates have repeatedly warned that Christian communities are disproportionately targeted, though the Nigerian government has often characterized the conflict as complex, involving terrorism, banditry, and communal tensions.

Moore’s comments add to growing calls from U.S. lawmakers and advocacy groups for increased international attention to religious persecution in Nigeria and stronger measures to protect vulnerable communities.
