Every position in civil and public service has its job description and the military is no exception.

The president had the prerogative to promote him and he will not be setting a precedence.

Who is taking about promotion to C-in-C.

Incase you don't know history, do yourself some decency and finish the assignment I gave you.

Yar'adua was promoted from a Lt. colonel past his course mates and seniors who were quite a score, skipping colonel to brigadier and made the number 2 man to General Obasanjo.
His mates did not have seizures and neither did they retire from service. He even became senior to TY Danjuma by virtue of his appointment.

If heaven did not fall then, it can never fall again.
