When Bibi mentioned Nigeria in his Christmas message,

I knew that something was coming.

What stopping the Nigerian government from carrying the same air strikes and bombing on terrorist locations and logistics support?
Nigeria doesn't have the technology to identify most of their hideouts.

Very few countries in the world have that type of technology.

Certainly none in Africa. Not Egypt, Not South Africa.

Nigeria’s security is compromised

True.

But we also don't have the advanced technologies needed to capture intelligence at the level required to effectively deal with the situation.

The few countries that have these technologies rarely sell them. If they do, it will be to their closest alies e.g USA, UK, Israel. The US will not even sell these technologies to countries like France, Germany etc. So there is no way Nigeria can have access to them.

The only other countries with such inter-continental intelligence gathering capacity are Russia, and China.

But the US is tops.

The Nigerian government have not come out to say anything about the strike. This should tell us that they weren't informed and the US government is making it look like they were informed so it doesn't look like an invasion.

If it was Peter Obi that spoke the same time the American government conducted the strike, Bayo Onanuga and his shameless fellow APC spokesperson would have responded with a speed of light, but hours after the airstrike by America none of them have spoken...they have suddenly become dummb.

Shame on the Nigerian government and the compromised military architecture, a deadly strike you cannot conduct for over 15 years was done in just one night.

Now that the strike has started, expect more to come... except the Nigerian government start prosecuting and eliminating known terrorists sponsors and sympathyzers in government and outside government to save face.
You are not current. Nigeria government already gave their statement.

Great. We welcome their work in Nigeria and we should work and in hand to flush out these terrorists.

Death to ALL terrorists!!!
Is Pete Hegseth now the spokesperson for the Nigerian government? You people just enjoy deceiving yourselves.

You want the American government to inform the terrorists filled Nigerian government before they strike so terrorists in government will leak the information to their brothers in the forests. Make una dey play, the botched Chibok girls rescue mission already tought the American government a lesson on how not to trust the Nigerian government with Intel.

We want to hear from our own president on matters concerning this strike

We didnt not appoint pete hegseth , neither did we vote for him.

I hope commander in chief President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addresses the nation in a timely fashion.

We are under attack as a sovereign nation.

President Tinubu needs to come out and explain, how and why he gave permission for a foreign government to strike Nigerian soil.

Was it approved by Nigerian senate ? was Akpabio complicit.

To what goal or aim is the strike on Nigeria suppose to achieve ?

So many questions,I hope due process was obtained.
See empty yapping, as if Nigeria elected Tinubu.... Mtcheew!! More strikes are coming for your information, till all terrorists are wiped out!!

What does it matter if the US launched their attack at 11.30 pm last night (25 December), and Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs release its state at 1 am today (26 December). That's just 1hr 30 mins later huh

Preparing the Ministry's statement may have even started before the attack started, once the government knew the attack was on its ways. The Ministry would be aware that its statement will be read around the world, so many experts in the Ministry will have spent a long time checking, changing, reviewing, and changing it again, just to make sure every word hits the right cord with Nigerians, and with people in the rest of the world. And before the Ministry could send it, they will have received approval from Aso Rock after experts in the Presidency have also scrutinised every letter, word, comma, full stop etc.

Writing a press release for an important international event like this is no joke. It takes time.

The attack launched by the US will be one of the biggest news in the world later today.

US Secretary Of War Commends Nigeria Government Cooperation In Strike In Nigeria

The foreign minority Fula militia bandits from the Sahellian countries of West Africa have done the BIGGEST damage to the psyche of several indigenous Nigerian ethnic communities in the Hausa North West States, the Western States, the Middle Belt States and parts of the Niger Delta region (Edo and Delta States) including Northern Enugu State and parts of Ebonyi State in the East than any ISIS-backed Jihadi terrorists. In 2014 when Goodluck Jonathan was the President, the Global Terrorism Index declared the Fula militia bandits as the 4th deadliest on Earth... this was in 2013/2014! These Fula militia bandits and their local collaborators should be feeling more of the HEAT followed by the Jihadi gangsters called BH and ISWAP in the Lake Chad Basin region of Nigeria, Chad, Northern Cameroon, Niger.

The war on Jihadi terrorists will NOT be over until targeted airstrikes are used on the BIGGEST Jihadi terrorists called JNIM in the West African Sahel who are operating in over half of Mali, over half of Burkina Faso and Niger Republic posing even more danger to the Northern parts of Nigeria, Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, etc. JNIM is even deadlier than BH or ISWAP in terms of the area of coverage. I MUST commend the Nigerian Military hugely (things could have been WORSE in Nigeria) for maintaining a way more stable country than Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic have done. These 3 French-speaking countries ruled by young and inexperienced military dictatorships have deteriorated in terms of security ever since the Russians got involved.

When a foreign power takes over kinetic operations on your soil to protect your citizens, you have effectively surrendered your primary duty of sovereignty

They certainly won't carry the government along. They will simply do what they have to then come to the media and give you the impression that it was mutual after already doing the needful.

Finally it has started. Let's see how far this new partnership and effort at militarily confronting these homicidal and suicidal group will help the government consolidate and have a firm grip on security which has largely been illusive and absent in our country. A lot of lives have been lost due to this. And please our Muslims communities should understand that it is a war or effort to protect all of us not just Christians. No body is safe from the monstrous attacks of these group of deluded people.

Sovereignty looks good on paper, especially the way it is taught at secondary school level.

But in the real world, the concept of absolute sovereignty is non existent.

The only country that comes close to having it is the US because of the unmatched scale of its military power. May China too.

If you desperately need help, you call for it from a greater power. Nothing to be ashamed of.

That's NOT correct. There is ongoing Military collaboration going on between Nigeria and the United States otherwise there would be chaos. There's NO unilateral actions on the part of the United States. It's for their own good as well.

Maybe you've not understood me. There is of course widely publicized cooperation, which is really just a scheme for Nigeria to save face.

In reality, I can guarantee that Nigeria is not carried along when it comes to tactical operations because the risk of leakage is known to be very high.

That is to say, the partners may agree that they are working together but when it comes to strikes, Nigeria will not be informed before hand of the specific location, time or manner of attack. This I am sure of.

The U.S. strike on ISIS targets in Nigeria can be seen as a short-term counter-terrorism measure aimed at weakening extremist groups and supporting Nigeria’s fight against insecurity. While it may disrupt militant operations and signal international cooperation, it raises concerns about sovereignty, civilian safety, and long-term effectiveness. Military action alone cannot resolve Nigeria’s complex security challenges, which are rooted in governance gaps, economic hardship, and local conflicts. Sustainable peace requires broader, locally driven solutions beyond airstrikes.

Re: US Secretary Of War Commends Nigeria Government Cooperation In Airstrike by Focusmind: 4:13am On Dec 26, 2025
In as much as the strike is welcomed, this is going to even deepen the conflict. The moslem north are not excited in ending the terrorism, especially, through the cooperation of the US and the fact that a southern president is the one at the helms affairs. They would rather allow the madness to keep festering than letting it go. Some bigots may even see it as an attack on their region and view it as a "Christian-moslem " war. Government should track the preachings at the mosques, starting from today. That's where the brain washing and anti government propaganda sermons starts.
