Great. We welcome their work in Nigeria and we should work and in hand to flush out these terrorists.

Death to ALL terrorists!!!

Nigeria government statement supporting this.
Why won't trump also map out IPOB to bomb?

Isn't this partial? isn't IPOB a terror organization killing people in Nigeria?

IPOB terrorists have been largely decimated.

I don’t think they are a problem to Nigeria at this moment.

After so many years patting terrorism on the back, you guys suddenly woke up to your responsibilities because a super power held you at the jugularhuh We have lost our sovereignty as a nation.
Who and who are which guy?

I’ve always hated terrorists from the first day. I be Yoruba boy, terrorism is alien to us.

Nigeria doesn't have the technology to identify most of their hideouts.

Very few countries in the world have that type of technology.

Certainly none in Africa. Not Egypt, Not South Africa.
Did US use same technology in Afghanistan? 2 decades of war, 2000+ soldiers dead and same Taliban grabbed power back!

Russia lost too in same Afghanistan with all the technology.

You know why they lost? Because they had no know enemy and that is what the NAF is going through. Everyone seems to be a civilian till they wreck havoc.

Morale of the story! No country has the technology to counter a guerrilla warfare except you want to commit a genocide like Israel!

The U.S. strike on ISIS targets in Nigeria can be seen as a short-term counter-terrorism measure aimed at weakening extremist groups and supporting Nigeria’s fight against insecurity. While it may disrupt militant operations and signal international cooperation, it raises concerns about sovereignty, civilian safety, and long-term effectiveness. Military action alone cannot resolve Nigeria’s complex security challenges, which are rooted in governance gaps, economic hardship, and local conflicts. Sustainable peace requires broader, locally driven solutions beyond airstrikes.
Extremists headslamer won't back down even when all goodies of life are provided for them, better procure visa for them to meet their imaginary virgins. Nothing beyond airstrikes!

Maybe you've not understood me. There is of course widely publicized cooperation, which is really just a scheme for Nigeria to save face.

In reality, I can guarantee that Nigeria is not carried along when it comes to tactical operations because the risk of leakage is known to be very high.

That is to say, the partners may agree that they are working together but when it comes to strikes, Nigeria will not be informed before hand of the specific location, time or manner of attack. This I am sure of.
I get your point of view about potential operational leakages especially by some insidious sympathizers of these non-state actors.

Local geopolitical dynamics would definitely dictate who among the Nigerian Military combatants the United States will work with. They are using precision-guided weapons and coordinates to target those Jihadi creeps so, there would also be less physical casualties while troops on the ground are carrying out mop up operations after targeted strikes.

But then again, they will all do what is militarily BEST for everyone and mankind in general because these Jihadi gangsters and the foreign Fula militia bandits and foreign Tuareg Lakurawa bandits from Northern Mali and Niger Republic disturbing and displacing indigenous Nigerian communities are the WORSE kinds of species on earth today along with ISIS, ISIL, Al-Shaabab, Al-Qaeda, etc.

KingOfAmebo:
The Nigerian government have not come out to say anything about the strike. This should tell us that they weren't informed and the US government is making it look like they were informed so it doesn't look like an invasion.

If it was Peter Obi that spoke the same time the American government conducted the strike, Bayo Onanuga and his shameless fellow APC spokesperson would have responded with a speed of light, but hours after the airstrike by America none of them have spoken...they have suddenly become dummb.

Shame on the Nigerian government and the compromised military architecture, a deadly strike you cannot conduct for over 15 years was done in just one night.

Now that the strike has started, expect more to come... except the Nigerian government start prosecuting and eliminating known terrorists sponsors and sympathyzers in government and outside government to save face.

Is Pete Hegseth now the spokesperson for the Nigerian government? You people just enjoy deceiving yourselves.

You want the American government to inform the terrorists filled Nigerian government before they strike so terrorists in government will leak the information to their brothers in the forests. Make una dey play, the botched Chibok girls rescue mission already tought the American government a lesson on how not to trust the Nigerian government with Intel.

I am current enough to know the strike was conducted on December 25, 2025 but the Nigerian government is issuing a statement the following day, didn't you check the date on the statement you uploaded? Have they ever taken this long to respond to statements by Peter Obi?
The Nigerian government and ministry of foreign affairs have both tweeted about the strikes in Sokoto.

It was coordinated by America and Nigeria. This is the official Nigerian government page 3 hours ago.

It's obvious we cannot handle our own affairs by ourselves.

They should give us the damage assessment pronto. That's how we can gauge if the invasion is absolutely necessary or we are better off with them just given support in the form of intelligence gathering and sharing.

Succinctly stated.

However, the war on terror MUST be a holistic one involving multiple countries collaborating with the BIGGER and more militarily, tech powerful countries (such as the United States, Franch, Britain, China, etc), from here on out because ONLY one country such as Nigeria can't do it alone in this Jihadi, guerilla-style insurgency. Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Mali now have more than half of their land masses in the hands of the Jihadi terrorists called JNIM which is linked to Al-Qaeda.

Nigerian insecurity is mainly due to the Islamic north. Could you tell me what form of governance gap, economic hardship and local conflict that made Mutallab (or whatever his name was) sew bombs in his pants to try and blow up a plane? Like I keep saying, 50% of Nigeria's problems is corruption. The remaining 50% is the north.

No matter how the Nigerian govt want to spin this one, it's terrible and reflects sadly on the Nigerian state.
How in hell do you allow a foreign govt to come attack people on your own soil.
This is a no no. The very least z rhey should have carried out the attack with the help of rhe US military with Intel and whatever.
To allow such attack to happen means that yoy have surrendered your sovereignty.
It reflects very bad on this govt.

Good. Now it's remaining Akpabio to finalise the outlaw of Sharia law among those Northern states through the senate. Then pass to PBAT to sign the bill into law.
PBAT is making progress. Nigeria is taking shape.
