Refund ke?!!

People that believe loaned or stolen money is their personal right.

See Wike and his ilk boldly singing and dancing while stealing funds that even their 5th generation can never spend completely.

As for "accountability", that word is alien even to the most learned amongst us.
Don't loan anyone money in Nigeria...They don't pay back. Instead of loaning, give the little you can afford to let go. Nigerians have zero integrity, zero accountability, zero morality. No wonder our leaders are the way they are,bad society gives birth to bad leaders. Our leaders didn't fall from the moon, they are a product of a depraved society.

A Nigerian man has narrated how trust, friendship, and generosity took a surprising turn after he tried to help a close friend during the 2022 Christmas season.

According to him, the friend reached out asking for “Christmas money.” Rather than send a small token, he credited the friend with ₦5 million and also included a list of other beneficiaries he wanted to financially support for the festive period, since he was deployed at the time and unable to handle the transfers himself.

He explained that his friend agreed to help distribute the funds and provide a breakdown of payments. However, immediately after receiving the money, the story took a strange twist — the friend vanished.

Communication reportedly stopped completely. The last message exchange between them was on December 26, 2022, when he pleaded with his friend to please send the money to those on the list. His messages were ignored.

For over two years, there was total silence… until yesterday.

Out of nowhere, the same friend resurfaced — once again asking for “Christmas money.” Shocked by the audacity, the man simply replied with “lol.” When the friend pressed further, begging and trying to explain himself, the response remained the same: “lol.”

Despite everything, he says he has no intention of blocking him — but the trust is gone, and the lesson remains a painful one.

Sometimes, the biggest heartbreaks don’t come from strangers. They come from those we once trusted without hesitation.

That is not totally true, been broke has nothing to do with greed and honesty and integrity. I don't have as much I want to myself yet I do not take or misuse what has been given to me by people and the few who know that trust me on that because I have my integrity to look out for.

Some times it is not the poverty in pocket that ruins and hurt people , it is the poverty in mindset.

It's a mystery... Humans are a mystery.

You might be right but that would never make someone like my Royal Self trust such a person. Even with small 2k.

The friend should be lucky he even got a response even though it's an lol....

With the mindset I get this 2025 I won't even allow myself to respond to that friends' messages.

He has the guts to deny others money not his own and still come back after three years, but him try to stay three years to return again.

Imagine, that the friend had angrily given his contact to those other friends to hunt him down, how would he feel?

The usual Twitter story.
* He handed over 5m for distribution as per being father Christmas.
* He was too busy to give the money out himself.
*Perhaps, he did not inform the other beneficiaries that one thief ran away with their benefit.

I have travelled around and lived in at least 3 continents, and I can tell you honestly, that most Nigerians are a whole new level of greedy, wicked, and corrupt.

I no longer bother arguing this obvious fact with any so called "Defender of Nigeria's Pride".

None of you can ever be more Nigerian than I am... Or love Nigeria more than I do.

We keep insulting Tinubu and all our leaders (and yes, they deserve even far worse for being corrupt and useless)... But, we continue to ignore the unchecked rot and decay in our individual and shared value systems.

An average Nigerian is highly religious yet shockingly IMMORAL...!
Most religious people are very wicked... One of the reasons I stopped going to church. Imagine gathering with wicked and greedy individuals in the name of worship.

Back in 2011, a guy begged me for money that his family needed it urgently, he ended up getting 5k to be repaid within a week.

I saw this guy daily for over 6 months till I relocated from that area, and he never repaid it.

He was even throwing parties and doing hangouts... When I approached him, he didn't even beg or nothing.

The brazenness of it all... The audacity to owe money or even misappropriate funds yet strut around in the public... That is the nature of an average Nigerian.
An average Nigerian have the mindset of not paying back any money they borrow. So when some people come to me to borrow money, I just give them what I can afford to loose.

The leaders we have today were once youths.
You're doing business with a Nigerian, what's going through his mind is how he/she can dupe you.
Very greedy and wicked lots.

Yes you're absolutely right but the system made it so. Many Nigerians are mere products of the decades of failed system that has negatively impacted their consciousness and make dem given up on patriotism and all form of morality that is imbedded in our culture and religion. We have far degenerated as a people and are now on survival instinct. So an average Nigerian is just surviving with little to no hope for a better future, so when such a person sees an opportunity to escape such hellish situations he or she is currently in they won't even blink before they take a leap. It is foolish to think religion will fix the adverse effect of hunger and poverty. People will drop every sense of decorum and morality over a plate of rice with meat, that's how cheap the conscience of an average Nigerian is and how readily corrupt we all are. I honestly don't know how this can be fixed overtime. I don brainstorm tire. Maybe we will need to deprogram our collective mind which I don't know how that can be achieved. Nigeria is gone!

Thank you..
Op should not have out that kind of money in his friends custody to share, people react in different ways to money.
Few day ago, something broke my heart. I done days back of how a paddy who's consignment of farouq petrol just landed and another ship was about to land, the guy visited me, when leaving he asked for my son's account details and wired him some heavy money, told him to take 60% and give the rest to his 2 kid sisters. Atleast I was there and heard. Omo do you know later I asked the girls if their brother gave them money and how much, he gave them 5% each total 10% instead of 40%! Omo that night I no fit sleep, my mind was turning, different thoughts going through my head as a father. Eg does it mean if person no de and he leaves heavy money or assets for him to take care of his sisters him go kolobi the whole money and not take care of them? When he gets rich will be abandon his siblings? I was just observing him, and I guess he noticed all was not well. The following day we alone in the car and I told him he fall my hand, that I was disappointed in him, he said it was easier for his sisters to get money from me than him (as him no de to ask), and that anyway he had sent them more money approximately 15% each, still 5% less that was to get to each of the sisters. I left it at that.
So basically with how the country is, people's eyes are red, do not tempt anyone, if you want to send money to several people, take time to send to each yourself, do not deligate.
But you made a mistake right there. As a father you should have taken your time to teach him life lessons. I would have collected all that money and distributed it to his siblings and leave him with none he won't die. He is my son and I love him that much to teach him life lessons. Greed will kill him faster than he could ever make it out there. The 10% short of the real amount of the 40% he was suppose to give his sisters after making amends is the very reason why he's not gonna get a dime. This is the boy that is suppose to take charge of your earthly wealth when you are gone and this is the boy that is suppose to look after your loved ones when you jet out of this existence so you are obligated to deprogram his excesses and program him into being more responsible leader after your kind, well that's if your moral compass is without a question.

Yeah, if he were younger, harsh decisions can be taken, but at his current age and stage one has to be careful how you handle issues like this, there has to be subtle talk with compromise unless you want to cause more problems than to solve. I am not talking of a teenager but a young adult in his 5th and final year in university.
